Replacement Bride Left With His Baby (Sophia and Easton) novel Chapter 95

95 Chapter 95

95.Chapter 95

Emily stayed quiet for a long while and then said weakly, “Sophia, I’m just so tired tonight. Can I think about it tomorrow? I just want to go home right now.”

Sophia’s eyes were rimmed red as she looked at Emily, her heart aching. She nodded. “Okay, we’ll take you home.”

May and Sophia walked Emily back to her apartment, helped her get changed into some fresh clothes, and encouraged her to take a shower and get some rest.

This was bound to be a sleepless night. Emily had no family, and Sophia just couldn’t bring herself to leave her all alone there.

Sophia and May quietly agreed they’d stay with her tonight, keeping her company no matter what. They stood on the balcony, both weighed down by the heavy silence.

“Tomorrow’s the weekend, so we don’t have to work. Let’s just stay here with her,” May said.

Sophia nodded and then asked, “May, is there any other way we can actually bring Nicolas to justice?”

May’s expression grew darker as she shook her head. “No. Right now, the only hope we have is that Emily can remember some more details from that night. If she does, maybe we’ll find the key. If not, Nicolas will probably get away with it.”

Sophia knew it was almost impossible. From the way things were going, she could tell Emily couldn’t bear to remember what happened. If they pushed her too hard, it might backfire.

“Emily’s been in the shower forever. Should we go knock and check on her?” May asked.

Sophia hurried over to the bathroom and knocked softly on the door.

She asked, “Emily, are you done in there?”

There was no answer. Sophia knocked again, a bit harder. “Emily, can you hear me?”

May and Sophia exchanged a worried look, and then hurriedly bumped the door open.

They rushed in and saw Emily submerged in the bathtub, water covering her whole body.

They pulled her out as fast as they could, laid her down flat, and started pressing on her chest. Then they pinched her nose and breathed into her mouth, desperate to revive her.

After several tries, Emily finally coughed, sputtering.

Sophia helped her up, voice trembling. “Emily, how could you try to end your life like this? We’re all doing everything we can for you. You can’t give up.”

Emily sobbed, completely broken. “Sophia, I can’t take it anymore. Every time I close my eyes, all I see is what happened. I’m so scared. I’m telling the truth-they were in it together, and they raped me.”

“Emily, please, don’t cry. Don’t be afraid, it’s over. You can’t give up everything because of monsters like them. You’re worth so much more, okay?” May wrapped her warmly in a towel and gently took her to the bed.

Sophia dried Emily off, half exasperated, half worried. “Emily, everyone hits rock bottom at some point, but ending your life over someone like Nicolas? That’s just not you. You’re still young, and your life has so much more in store.”

Emily looked up at Sophia, tears pouring down her cheeks.

Sophia gently wiped her tears away. “Listen to me, I swear I won’t let Nicolas walk free. I promise you that.”

Emily threw her arms around Sophia and broke down, sobbing her heart out.

May stood by, her heart aching for Emily.

May and Sophia waited by Emily’s side until they finally saw her drift off to sleep. Only then did they quietly leave her room.
