Robert let out a bitter laugh. “I’ve been a doctor for forty years. You really think I’d misdiagnose this? Little girl, be careful–you’re about to choke on your own branging.”
Even with Sebastian standing right there, Robert wasn’t about to let some nobody trash his reputation.
Amelia glanced at the time on her phone, her pretty eyes sparkling with mischief. She looked straight at Robert. “If Grandma isn’t awake within ten minutes after I needle her, you can do whatever you want with me. But if she does wake up…
Jonathan slammed his hand down. “Sebastian, you’re seriously letting this girl play games with your grandmother’s life?!”
Sebastian unbuttoned his suit jacket, dropped into a chair, crossed his long legs, and rested his chin on his hand. His face gave nothing away as he warned Amelia in a flat tone, “You know what happens if Grandma doesn’t wake up.”
Amelia grinned and flashed a peace sign. “Of course I do. Ten minutes, no wake–up, and I’m all yours to deal with.”
Sebastian’s sharp gaze swept the room. “Let her treat Grandma.”
“Sebastian!” Jonathan started to argue, but one look from his son made his legs shake. He shut up and turned away, fuming.
“Fine,” he spat as his final compromise. “If she’s not awake in ten minutes, I’m sending Amelia straight to the police.”
Sebastian leaned back, closed his eyes, and said coolly, “Whatever you want.”
Just try it. You won’t get the chance.
Jonathan actually looked relieved the second his giant sen sat down.
Amelia moved fast. She placed silver needles into the major acupoints around Eleanor’s body, left them for one minute, then slowly pulled them out.
Dark, almost black blood welled up at every spot. She grabbed a sterilized scalpel from the medical kit, made tiny incisions exactly where the blood had surfaced, and let the thick, foul–smelling poison drain out. She even collected a few drops in a test tube for evidence.
The nurses rushed in and cleaned every trace of the black blood with gauze,
Eleanor had been poisoned. If the toxin wasn’t drawn out quickly, it would reach her brain and turn her into the vegetable Robert had predicted–permanently.
Chloe’s eyes bulged when she saw Amelia actually cutting the skin. “Jonathan! She’s slicing Grandma open!” “Shut your mouth!” Amelia shot her one icy glare, and Chloe instantly zipped it.
Once everything was clean, Amelia calmly walked over, dropped into the chair right next to Sebastian, and poured herself a glass of water like she had all the time the world.
The minutes dragged on like hours.

The whole room felt suffocating. Everyone stood there with Sebastian, hearts hammering, trading nervous glances, barely able to breathe.
Amelia, on the other hand, sat right next to him, casually sipping her water like she was chilling at a coffee shop.
Ten minutes ticked by.
Eleanor still hadn’t stirred.
“Amelia, what’s your excuse now?!” Vanessa crowed. “She’s not waking up–you’re a straight–up liar! Guards, haul her ass to the police station!”
Vanessa piled on, all smug and loud, “I told you she’s a fraud! Everyone knows her rotten reputation. How could a nobody like her actually know medicine? Make her get on her knees and apologize to Eleanor right now!”
Chloe jumped in too, “Sebastian, she totally played you! This woman’s a total con artist–she even wrecked Vanessa’s birthday party earlier. Throw her out!”
Robert stood tall, chest puffed out. “I knew my diagnosis was spot–on. This nasty little girl needs real punishment!”
But Sebastian hadn’t said a word, so the bodyguards didn’t dare move.
Jonathan exploded, “Sebastian, are you seriously still letting this woman mess with your head?”
Sebastian finally opened his eyes, completely ignoring the shouting. He glanced sideways at Amelia, voice low. “Grandma still not awake?”
Amelia checked her watch, cool as ever. “Any second now. Just hang on.”
