Chapter 12 I Can Wake Her Up
Is she actually happy Eleanor’s like this?
That weird medicinal smell Amelia had caught at the hospital earlier suddenly made sense. Eleanor’s last hospital stay and this collapse? Vanessa was behind both
Vanessa, you just stepped on a landmine.
Amelia clicked into the room on her high heels, tilted her head, and pointed straight at Eleanor on the bed.
“Robert, you’re supposed to be a traditional medicine expert. Why not try acupuncture? It could just be a temporary coma.”
Every head in the room whipped toward her.
Robert frowned. “And who exactly are you?”
“Jonathan,” Vanessa cut in with a smug look, “Sebastian’s had her giving Eleanor some ‘health therapy‘ lately. I’m betting that’s what caused this.”
Jonathan slammed his hand on the table. “Idiots! All of you! Letting some clueless kid play doctor with Eleanor?”
Robert stared at the gorgeous young woman in front of him. After Jonathan’s explanation that she had zero medical training, his eyes filled with contempt.
“Sweetheart, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Time to leave.”
Amelia gave a short, mocking laugh. “Looks like you’re the real quack here, Robert.”
Robert froze. “What?”
He was the director of Kingsley’s top hospital, an internationally famous internal–medicine specialist with a wall full of degrees.
This girl just called him a quack?
His face turned purple with rage. “You dare say that? You honestly think you can wake Eleanor up? That’s hilarious!”
Amelia didn’t blink. She glanced at Eleanor, then strode straight to the bed.
“Yeah, I can wake her up. Just because you can’t doesn’t mean it’s impossible.”
Amelia’s gaze was laced with biting mockery. To her, this so–called director was nothing but a figurehead with a hollow reputation; he didn’t know the first thing about traditional medicine.
She had long ago dug into Robert’s background. This man’s credentials were mostly fabricated–a resume bought and paid for with cold, hard cash. Letting a man like him treat Eleanor wasn’t medical care; it was a fast track to her grave.
Under Amelia’s piercing scrutiny, Robert’s confidence crumbled into self–doubt, He even took a guilty step back, his heart racing.
Those eyes… they were unnerving.

Chapter 12 I Can Wake Her Up
Finished
Jonathan wasn’t buying any of it. “Security! Grab her and lock her up until we know exactly what happened to Eleanor!”
“Why won’t you let me try?” Amelia shot back, her sharp gaze sweeping the room. “Or are you all secretly hoping she never wakes up?”
She pulled a set of silver acupuncture needles from the hain at her waist and stepped right up to Eleanor’s bedside.
Vanessa’s stomach dropped with sudden dread.
If she actually brings her back….
“Jonathan, she’s going to hurt her! Don’t let her touch Eleanor!”
“Security! What are you waiting for? Take her down!”
“I’d like to see you try.”
A deep, magnetic voice laced with fury rolled in from the doorway.
Sebastian’s long legs crossed the threshold first. Tall, tailored suit, gold–rimmed glasses–the man carried the kind of commanding presence that made the whole room feel ten degrees colder the second he walked
That pressure… it hit like a wall.
The room stayed deathly quiet as Vanessa cowered behind Jonathan, barely daring to breathe. In a tiny voice, she squeaked, “Sebastian… why are you back so soon? I thought you had a business trip?“,
Damn it–she had timed everything perfectly. How the hell was he here?
Sebastian shot her a freezing look that carried pure murder. “If I hadn’t come back, you people were ready to put Grandma in a coffin, weren’t you?”
“N–no, of course not! I was just… relieved-”
“Save it.”
That single cold snort made Vanessa’s fake smile crack and collapse,
Jonathan had always been terrified of his own son. He couldn’t even look him in the eye, Now he forced the words out, voice shaking. “Sebastian, perfect timing. This little bitch is the one who did this to your grandmother. Throw her straight in jail!”
Sebastian acted like his father wasn’t even in the room. He walked right past him without a glance, treating Jonathan like thin air.
Amelia watched the whole thing and thought, Wow. Ever since Jonathan married Vanessa, these two have been ice–cold.
