Chapter 132 The Rebirth of Lucas
Funshed
Sebastian hung up and sat by the bed, taking Amelia’s hand and pressing it to his cheek, whispering softly.
I’m sorry, Amelia. I almost let you go. It’s never happening again.”
Seeing that ransom video had nearly stopped his heart; the fear had been a living thing in his chest.
He wanted to drag Derek back from the dead just to kill him again, over and over.
And the wound on her leg… his perfect, porcelain girl, driven to that just to stay sane.
A quick death was too good for Derek. He’d make sure the man lived through every second of his torture in prison.
In a different wing of the same hospital, Alexander stood by a bed as the doctor finished checking Lucas. “No internal damage. Just a concussion. He might be a bit disoriented or confused when he wakes up.” The doctor gave a quick nod and headed out.
Sophia was still wrapped in a hospital blanket, her face caked in soot and her hair a disaster, looking pathetic and ugly,
“Lucas… it’s all my fault. If I hadn’t been kidnapped, you wouldn’t be like this.”
She was wailing, but in Alexander’s eyes, it was just a bad performance.
He didn’t feel a shred of pity. He sat on the sofa, crossing his legs with a grim expression. “Let’s have it. You planned the whole thing with Derek, didn’t you?”
Sophia’s crying stopped for a second, her eyes darting around before she threw herself back onto Lucas. “How can you say that? Lucas, wake up! Alex is being so mean to me!”
Alexander rubbed his temples, his patience gone. “Yara already told the cops you lured her out of school. You still gonna lie to me?”
“I just told her to meet me for a sec! I waited in the alley but she never showed! I didn’t know Derek grabbed her!”
Sophia knew she hadn’t shown her face during the actual grab; Alexander had no hard proof.
Just then, Julian walked in, holding a small electronic device.
“I found the dashcam from your car. Want to explain why the memory card is missing?”
Sophia stared at the dashcam, her heart hammering against her ribs.
“That’s impossible! I took the whole unit out before I—”
“Oh? Why’d you do that?” Alexander’s eyes narrowed into lethal slits.

“I meant… to see… I mean, it was broken! I was taking it to get fixed…”
Sophia caught herself just in time. He’s trying to bait me. Don’t fall for it. “Amelia… Amelia, I’m so sorry…”
Lucas started mumbling in his sleep, drawing everyone’s attention.
“Lucas? Are you awake? Lucas?”
Sophia started shaking him, hoping he’d wake up and take the heat for her.
Lucas snapped his eyes open, gasping from a nightmare. When he saw Sophia’s face, his expression went from shock to pure, icy rage. He raised his hand and delivered a brutal slap.
CRACK!
“Agh.”
Sophia was sent flying backward, hitting the floor with a thud.
The stinging pain on her cheek brought her back to reality; she stared at Lucas in total disbelief.
“Lucas? It’s me, Sophia! Why did you hit me?”
Lucas had always been her biggest fan; he’d literally cry if she even broke a fingernail. Why was he acting like this?
Lucas was panting, his eyes fixed on her with a hatred so deep it was frightening. “You dared to touch Amelia… killing you would be too easy!”
The explosion had rattled his brain, but instead of turning him into a vegetable, it had unlocked the memories of his past life.
The flood of images was overwhelming.
Sophia’s endless lies, the way they bullied and beat Amelia on her orders… and that day on the yacht when Sophia killed her.
