Chapter 133 The Slap Heard Round the Wing
The guilt for everything he’d said and done to Amelia made it hard to breathe.
Sophia was dead to him.
Sophia backed away, terrified. How could he possibly know about Derek?
Lucas ripped the IV out of his hand, his eyes bloodshot as he looked at Alexander. “She told me she was going shopping, but her GPS showed her heading straight for Black Ridge. I have the logs.
He started frantically searching for his phone, but it was gone.
“Where’s my phone?”
“It was vaporized in the blast, Lucas.”
Alexander sighed, pushing Lucas back onto the pillows. “Relax. We’re handling this. Don’t blow a vessel.”
Sophia was clutching her face, her mind a mess of panic.
Why are they all turning on me? Are they all insane?
“Sophia, you confessing to the kidnapping or what?” Alexander loomed over her.
Sophia shook her head like a bobblehead. “I didn’t do it! I have no idea what Derek was doing!”
She was sticking to the script, if they had proof, she’d already be in handcuffs.
Alexander let out a cold, sharp laugh. “I was gonna let it slide because of the last twenty years, but you’re a lost cause. Pack your bags. You’re going back to the boonies today.”
He signaled the guards at the door. “Take her back to her birth parents. Now.”
“Alex! You can’t! We’ve been siblings for twenty years! You’re throwing that away for her?“
Sophia grabbed his arm, her eyes rimmed with red. “You’ve wanted me gone since she got back, haven’t you?”
Alexander shoved her off with a look of pure disgust. “You did this to yourself.”
Sophia collapsed on the floor, realizing it was over. Not a single brother was looking at her with anything but hate.
Just then, Eudora’s frantic voice echoed from the hall. “Sophia? Where’s my baby?”
Eudora burst in and ignored Lucas entirely, throwing herself at Sophia. Seeing her covered in dirt and wrapped in a blanket broke her heart.
“My poor girl! What did these boys do to you?”
“Mom!” Sophia had her savior. She buried her face in Eudora’s chest and wailed.

Chapter 344 The slap Heard Round the Wing
“Is she hurt? Why is she crying like this?” Eudora checked her over. “She looks fine… did you boys bully her?”
“Mom!” Lucas shouted from the bed. “Sophia paid Derek to snatch Amelia! If it weren’t for her. I wouldn’t be in this bed!”
Eudora frowned, pulling Sophia tighter. “Don’t be ridiculous. Sophia is scared of her own shadow. She wouldn’t hurt a fly”
To Eudora, Sophia was the perfect, obedient daughter. The scandals were just ‘misunderstandings.‘
“Mom, Lucas is telling the truth. I’m sending her away. Don’t get in the way.”
Alexander knew his mother was a soft touch. He signaled Julian to pull her away while he grabbed Sophia’s
arm.
“Mom. I didn’t do anything! Alex is just trying to frame me so he can kick me out!”
Sophia saw her chance and took it. She lunged toward the wall, head–first.
THUD! Blood spattered the wallpaper as she slumped to the floor.
“Sophia!”
Eudora screamed and ran to her. “You’re trying to kill her! Where’s the doctor? Get help!”
The three brothers watched with cold, dead eyes. They knew it was a stunt—a classic “drama queen” move to get Eudora’s pity.
But it worked. Eudora was too far gone to listen to logic now.
Sophia stole a quick glance at Alexander before closing her eyes. Seeing the hesitation in his eyes told her that as long as the parents protected her, she was safe.
Amelia drifted back into consciousness, but her world was still dark.
