Chapter 159 The “Phantom” Alter Ego

Sebastian was already gone, and the bed was cold; it looked like he’d been up for a while.

She assumed he’d gone to the office, but when she walked into the living room, she saw a six–foot–tall man in a pink apron… cooking in the kitchen?

Seeing Amelia awake, Sebastian brought over a bowl of freshly made oatmeal, looking like he was showing off. “Go wash up and eat.”

Amelia looked at the breakfast on the table and felt a bit awkward. “Sebastian… it’s past noon. Are you still making breakfast?”

Sebastian froze, his brow furrowing.

She was right… it was midday already…

He set the oatmeal down, his expression turning sour. “I’ll have Ryan book a table. Shall we go out?”

Amelia waved him off and headed for the bathroom. “No need, I’ll just grab a bite. I have to get to school; I’ve already missed the whole morning session.”

The drama from the design contest was definitely still the talk of the town; the Bennett family probably turned the school upside down today. She’d already missed the morning show; she wasn’t going to miss the afternoon.

Her parents were probably hunting for her everywhere!

Sebastian leaned against the bathroom door, arms crossed, his deep eyes fixed on her. “I’m coming with you today.”

“Don’t you have work?” Amelia teased, her eyes wide and bright.

“Work can wait. My fiancée can’t.” That was another one from Google.

Amelia tried to refuse, but Sebastian was acting like a clingy shadow; he was determined to follow her.

Eventually, after a quick lunch, a sleep–deprived Ryan pulled up to be their chauffeur.

At the school gates, a swarm of reporters was doing live broadcasts, and students were gathered in groups, excitedly reliving every detail of yesterday’s contest.

One student said, “I can’t believe the legendary designer Phantom is actually my classmate! I still have her old notebook! It’s literally a collector’s item now!”

Another teased, “I’ve actually competed on the same stage as Phantom. You guys better watch your step around me from now on.”

In the car, Sebastian watched Amelia with an inquisitive, searching look in his eyes.

“Amelia, would you care to explain this ‘Phantom‘ identity to me?” He narrowed his cye’s, waiting for her answer.

“Oh, you know… I was just bored when I was abroad, so I took a few classes in jewelry design. Who knew people would actually like it? They kept throwing money at me to design stuff for them. I was so busy back then, it was exhausting!”

In truth, Amelia had become a legend under the name Phantom after only twenty designs; then she’d vanished and returned home, never to touch a sketchbook again.

Those twenty designs were now some of the rarest collectibles in the world, with the cheapest one fetching over seventy million dollars at auction.

Sebastian didn’t call her out on her modest act; he just watched her silently.

The silence made Amelia nervous. “So… how are we going to get in?”

Looking at the crowd at the front gate, if she stepped out of the car, she’d be swarmed. Her secret identity being revealed was already a bomb; if she showed up with Sebastian Sterling…

The school would literally explode!

Sebastian glanced at the hyper–excited reporters outside and turned to Ryan. “Take the side entrance.”
