Amelia strolled downstairs, twirling the necklace. “You say this is yours. Where’s the proof?”

“Dad gave it to me, what more proof do I need?! I know you’re jealous Mom and Dad love me, but you can’t just steal! If you wanted it, I would’ve given it to you!”

“Mom, what’s going on? Why all the yelling this early?”

Alexander walked in from his rehab exercises, leaning on his crutch.

He heard Sophia screaming from outside and rushed back, terrified Amelia was getting bullied.

Eudora pointed right at Amelia’s face. “It’s your precious sister! She literally robbed Sophia of her necklace first thing in the morning!”

Alexander frowned. Seeing the necklace in Amelia’s hand, he asked, “Amelia, what happened? Did you snatch her necklace?”

Amelia tucked it away carefully like it was a rare diamond. “When Sebastian brought all those gifts over, did you guys seriously give all the jewelry to Sophia?”

Sebastian brought a massive haul that day. Even sleeping upstairs, Amelia heard the boxes being hauled in.

She figured even if William didn’t give it to her, he’d stash it in the vault. Never thought he’d hand it all to Sophia!

Why the hell should her fiancé’s gifts go to another woman?

“What bullsh*t are you spewing?!” Sophia quickly denied it. “Dad said Sebastian brought those specifically for me! It’s got nothing to do with you!”

“For you?” Amelia laughed. “You’re not his fiancée, and you’re not hooking up with him. Why the hell would he buy you gifts?”

“Sebastian and I grew up together! Obviously he has a crush on me, that’s why he…”

Sophia trailed off. Her cheeks flushed red, and she looked down like a shy little schoolgirl.

“You’ve got zero shame,” Amelia mocked ruthlessly.

“Mom, look at her! Dad gave me this jewelry, what did I do wrong?”

Sophia knew too well who the jewelry was for, but she wasn’t admitting it. She just doubled down on playing the victim.

Eudora obviously took Sophia’s side. “Doesn’t matter who it was meant for. Your dad gave it to Sophia, so it’s hers! Why are you so obsessed with it? I heard you’re some hotshot jewelry designer now, right? You probably make bank. Would it kill you to let Sophia keep a few things?”

When Eudora found out Amelia was a successful designer, it pissed her off.

She used to think this country daughter was an embarrassment, but now it felt like Amelia was just trolling her this whole time!

“Why should I give her the money I bust my ass for? And as for everything in her room, I want every single piece back. Otherwise, I’ll go have a little chat with Sebastian.”

Thinking about Sebastian’s cold–blooded, terrifying face made Eudora shiver.

“You’re so disobedient! Why can’t you be like Sophia and cut me some slack? It’s just some jewelry, and you… you…!” Eudora clutched her chest, panting heavily.

“Mom! Are you okay?!” Sophia yelled extra loud so Dylan would hear.

“Oh my god, you’re gonna kill me. My chest hurts so much,” Eudora groaned. “Sophia, help me upstairs. I need to lie down.”

They exchanged a knowing look, and Sophia helped her slowly walk upstairs.

“Hold it!” Amelia suddenly grabbed Eudora’s wrist and checked her pulse. “Cut the crap. You’re perfectly healthy. I’m taking my stuff back, and nobody is gonna stop me!”

Her act exposed, Eudora was furious, seeing stars. “How the hell did I give birth to a monster like you!”

“Mom, if it belongs to Amelia, give it back. Those are Sebastian’s gifts. You really wanna piss him off?”

Alexander barked at the servants. “Go. Pack up all the jewelry in Sophia’s room and take it to Amelia’s.”

The servants looked at each other, but nobody dared defy the oldest brother. “Yes, sir.”

Sophia panicked and bolted upstairs in her heels. “Don’t touch everything! I bought some of that myself!”
