Chapter 199 Too Little, Too Late
Lucas went out early and came back with a bouquet. “For you, Amelia.”
Amelia looked at the blood–red roses but didn’t take them. “I hate red roses. Pretty sure those are Sophia’s favorite. Nice of you to remember so perfectly.”
The flowers instantly felt like hot coals. Without a second thought, Lucas chucked them right out the door,
“I just, uh, picked these up on the side of the road. I’ll buy you real ones tomorrow.”
Lucas stood there awkwardly, wishing he could disappear. What flowers did Amelia like? He racked his brain and got nothing!
Alexander’s voice drifted over. “Amelia loves lisianthus. Have the gardeners plant them tomorrow, and fill the whole house with them.”
Lucas slapped his forehead. Right, lisianthus!
He remembered Sophia’s birthday when he bought her 999 red roses. Amelia had tugged his sleeve looking so pitiful. “Lucas, could you bring me some lisianthus tomorrow?”
Back then, Lucas was obsessed with Sophia. He violently shoved Amelia away. “You’re not my sister! Why the hell should I buy you flowers? You hick!”
Now, remembering that helpless look in her eyes, Lucas wanted to punch himself in the face.
Amelia didn’t even look up from her phone. “You could bury this whole estate in lisianthus and I still wouldn’t give a damn.”
Speaking of lisianthus, she really needed to go back to the country and see Victor.
Five years. She was so damn stupid in her past life. Didn’t visit him once in five whole years!
“What the hell is going on? Why are you taking stuff out of Sophia’s room?!”
Dylan stomped downstairs, saw the servants moving boxes, and grabbed one of them. “Isn’t this Sophia’s jewelry?! Why is it going to Amelia’s room!”
The servant shook in fear. “Mr. Dylan Bennett, Mr. Alexander Bennett ordered us to. We’re just doing our jobs.”
“What’s Alexander pulling now?”
Full of questions, Dylan went to confront him, but saw two Maybachs pull up. William stepped

out, grinning from ear to ear. Seeing everyone there made him even happier.
“Well this is rare. Except for Julian, all my boys are home.”

“Dad! Alexander is having the staff move everything from Sophia’s room to Amelia’s! What the hell is going on?!”
Dylan had zero filter and just blurted it out.
“Oh? Alexander, what is the meaning of this?”
Alexander was signing documents and didn’t even look up at his dad. “Those gifts were Amelia’s to begin with. I just had the staff put her property back in her room.”
“You…!”
William was so pissed he could spit blood.
He was the dad, but he raised a son who acted like the real boss. Business or home, what Alexander said went.
“Dad, please don’t blame Alexander. I’m not a real Bennett anyway. I’m just happy to stay here as a maid. I don’t dare ask for anything else.”
Sophia came downstairs with red puffy eyes, quickly dropping the bomb that Amelia made her
a servant.
“Maid?! You’re my daughter! Who the hell told you to be a maid?!” William glared at everyone before locking onto Amelia.
“Are you pulling some crazy stunt again?! The second I’m out the door, you start bullying Sophia, don’t you?!”
William was so damn loud. Amelia picked her ear. “So loud. Why don’t you ask her what she agreed to last night?”
Dylan jumped in. “You dare bring up last night?! Dad! Amelia blackmailed Sophia into being a maid, or else she’d ship her to the country!”
“This is absolute bullsh*t!” William slammed his briefcase down, practically jumping with rage. “I ain’t dead yet! When did you start running this house?! Get on your knees!”
“Dad!” Alexander stood up with his crutch. “I did this. Leave Amelia out of it.”
