The guy stammered for forever before finally blurting out, “Aphrodisiacs! Yeah, it was an aphrodisiac!”

“Wrong!”

Amelia laughed hysterically. “Seriously, next time you guys team up, get your stories straight. Look at him, he doesn’t even know what I was drugged with.”

Alexander, who had been listening from the sidelines, finally pieced it all together.

His face darkened. He used his good leg to kick the servant hard, then lifted his crutch and smashed it over the guy’s back.

“Talk! Who put you up to this?! Was it Sophia?!”

“Alexander, what does this have to do with me?! I’m innocent!”

Desperate to wash her hands clean, Sophia ran over and kicked the guy too. “Spit it out! Don’t drag me down for your crimes!”

“Seth Macadam. Your sister needs a heart transplant, but she’s still sitting in the hospital. waiting. Sophia never sent the money to save her. Poor thing, you got totally played.”

Seth completely froze. He lunged forward, grabbing Sophia’s arm, screaming, “You said my sister was in surgery! Why hasn’t it happened?! You lied to me!”

Sophia denied it to the death. She hadn’t wired any money anyway. So what if Amelia found out about his sister? Even if the guy pointed fingers, it was useless without proof!

But then, Amelia casually dropped a bomb. “Oh wow, this hidden camera is great. The audio is crystal clear. Whoever installed this deserves a raise.”

Alexander leaned over, staring at the phone screen. Seeing the two crystal–clear figures in the video, his expression turned absolutely lethal.

Then, Sophia’s arrogant voice blared from the speaker.

“Just take the soup up to Amelia, and then…” Sophia’s whisper wasn’t clear, but she followed up with, “Do this, and I’ll wire the money for your sister’s surgery immediately!”

Seeing the proof right there, Seth roared again, “You promised to send the money! You completely screwed me over, you liar!”

Sophia stumbled back in disbelief. With the video right in front of her, there was zero room for denial.

Seeing her bawling her eyes out, looking so utterly pathetic, past–life Amelia would have felt bad. But this time? She just thought Sophia hadn’t suffered enough!

“You brainless idiot. If you have the guts to do it, have the guts to face the consequences!”

Amelia shook off her hand. Right as she was about to dial, she paused. “Then again… we did live together for five years. There’s bound to be some sisterly love, right?”
