She tried to pull her hand away, but his grip was iron–clad “Meeting’s over. You can leave now, Sebastian.”

“In a rush to kick me out? As the client, I have the right to demand a business lunch, don’t I?”

Amelia was about to snap, but Selena happily jogged over. “Of course we’re buying you lunch! I already booked a private room. We’re drinking till we drop!”

“Are we eating or what?” Amelia gripped his arm, asking through gritted teeth.

Sebastian nodded calmly, his eyes growing even more tender. “Of course. Let’s go.”

The entire meal tasted like cardboard to Amelia.

When the lunch finally ended, Sebastian made another excuse, insisting Amelia personally oversee the project and dragging her back to the Sterling Group with him.

All day long. Amelia was running around behind Sebastian, barely having time to take a sip of water. If she wasn’t following him on inspections, she was stuck in endless meetings.

Night fell. The streets outside were bustling, neon lights illuminating every dark corner of the city.

After the final meeting, Amelia was so exhausted she collapsed onto the office couch, unable to lift a single finger.

Sebastian thoughtfully brought over a cup of hot milk, knelt beside her, and started massaging her legs. “Tired?”

Amelia vented all her pent–up frustration from the day, then played dead on the couch again.
