Felix dragged his feet over, looking completely unenthused, and immediately fired a sarcastic shot. “Mom, talent is great and all, but character matters too. I heard Sophia has been hooking up with quite a few guys…”

“Bullsh*t!” Eudora shoved her way through the crowd, screaming at Chloe. “If you keep spreading these baseless lies, the Bennett family will sue you into the ground!”

Vanessa scoffed. “Mrs. Bennett, if you have the guts to do it, have the guts to own it. We’re all respectable people here; don’t try to scare us with empty threats.”

Eudora’s face twisted in rage. Just as she was about to explode, Sophia grabbed her arm. “Mom, don’t waste your breath on them. They’re just jealous of me.”

Sophia turned to Nora, flashing a flawless, unbothered smile. “Mrs. Vane, people see what they want to see. Even though I never did those things, there’s nothing I can do to stop jealous people from throwing dirt on my name.”

Felix stared at her in utter disbelief. He had navigated the cutthroat corporate world for years, but he had never seen a manipulator this good.
