Amelia popped another piece of lobster into her mouth chewing slowly, then gave a lazy little shrug.

I’m actually super pettybut I won’t go too far.

Madison and Scarlett both exhaled in relief.

See? Country girl, total pushover.

Mr. Sterling,” Amelia said sweetly, licking sauce off her fork, go ahead and blacklist them. I think that’ll teach them a proper lesson.”

The two women had just started to rise when the words hit. Their legs buckled. They crashed back down on their asses right there on the marble floor.

Amelia! You said you wouldn’t go too far!Madison shrieked, face twisting into something ugly and feral. She jabbed a manicured finger at her, eyes bulging like they might pop out. You tricked us!

Amelia spread her hands innocently, voice dripping honey. Did you hear me say I’d let you off the hook?

The entire table went dead silent. Every guest suddenly found their plates fascinating, shoulders hunched. like they were bracing for a bomb.

A bonechilling aura rolled off Sebastian like arctic wind

Amelia’s right,he said, voice calm but lethal. Celebrities are supposed to be role models. Spreading rumors and bullying? They deserve to be kicked out of the industry for good.”

Exactly!another guest chimed in, desperate to stay on Sebastian’s good side. Security! Drag these two crazy bitches out!

No one wanted to be the next target. Better to lose two minor actresses than piss off the man who owned half the city.

Madison’s world went red.

Her futuregone. Everything she’d whored herself out forashes.

She snatched the fork off the table and lunged at Amelia like a rabid animal.

Die, you worthless slut!

Everything happened in a heartbeat, Gasps rippled around the table. No time to scream a warning.

Amelia twisted sideways on instinctbut a strong, warm arm was already snaking around her waist.

The world spun.

She slammed into a rockhard chest that smelled like cool white tea and pure safety.

BANG!

Sebastian’s foot connected with Madison’s ribs like a sledgehammer. The woman flew backward, smashing into the wall with a sickening crunch, then slid down in broken heap, whimpering in agony.

Ryan shook his head as security hauled the screaming, thrashing woman away like yesterday’s trash.

Touch Mr. Sterling? You might die quick.

Touch Amelia?

You’d beg for death long before it came.

Amelia’s heart was still racing as she spun toward Sebastian, eyes wide with worry. Mr. Sterling, are you okay? Did that crazy bitch scratch you or-

He caught her frantic little hands before they could paw all over him, tugged her straight back into her seat like she weighed nothing, and gave her that lazy, heartmelting smirk. I’m fine, baby. Eat first.”

Right on cue, the waiter rolled in a gleaming cart and se down the sizzling Blackened Fish right in front of her. The spicy, smoky aroma hit like a drug. Amelia’s mouth flooded instantly. She stabbed a fat chunk with her fork, shoved it in, and nearly moaned out loud as the Cajun fire exploded across her tongue.

Blackened Fish supremacy, baby. Absolute godtier.

She waved her fork at the whole table like a queen. C’mon, everybody eat! Don’t just staredig in! Make yourselves at home!

The guests forced out smiles that looked more like they were choking on glass. They clinked glasses, but every sip tasted like poison. The entire meal was pure tortureheartpounding, sweatdripping, flavorless hell.

Meanwhile, Amelia was living her best life. Sebastian kept sliding her the juiciest bites, refilling her plate like a personal chef, and she demolished everything with happy little hums.

When the dinner finally ended, the guests bolted like the building was on fire. Gone in sixty seconds flat.

Amelia watched the empty doorway, stuck out her tongue, and glanced up at Sebastian with a playful grin. Did I scare them off or what? I feel like I just massacred the whole room.

Probably,he teased, eyes sparkling with amusement.

She rolled her eyes so hard it hurt, Wow, thanks for the pep talk, Mr. Smooth,

She pushed her chair back. Dinner’s done, I should head out-

Hold up.” His long fingers wrapped around her wrist, gentle but ironclad. There’s an auction tonight. You’re coming with me.”

Amelia blinked, lashes fluttering. WaitMr. Sterling, I just mooched one meal off you. You’re really gonna draft me into unpaid labor like this?
