Revenge Looks Good on Me (Amelia and Sebastian) novel Chapter 30

Chapter 30 I Don’t Have a Family

Sebastian frowned, reluctant as hell. He turned to Amelia. You okay by yourself?

Amelia glanced around the glittering crowd and smirked. I’m a big girl. Mr. Harrington clearly needs you for something important. Go. I’ll be fine.

Only then did Sebastian finally tear himself away, every step looking like it physically hurt.

The auction host was already stepping onto the stage, mic in hand. Ryan politely guided Amelia toward their seats.

Then a voice she hated more than anything sliced through the air.

Amelia!

Alexander stormed in from the entrance, instantly shaking off Sophia’s arm like she was trash. He rushed straight to Amelia’s side, desperate and breathless.

Amelia, if you wanted to come to the auction, why didn’t you tell me? I would’ve brought you myself!

Amelia recoiled like he was diseased, taking a sharp step back to put cold distance between them. Her voice was ice. Alexander, are we even close?

His heart twisted hard. AmeliaI’m your brother

I don’t have a brother. I don’t have a family, she said flatly, eyes arctic. I’m just the girl from the countryside, remember?

Then Sophia, the ultimate professional martyr, drifted over with a practiced pout. Her voice was saccharine and trembling. Amelia, is it because I didn’t leave the Bennett house? Do you hate me for it? If you want, I’ll move out right nowplease don’t take it out on Alexander

Sophia, this has nothing to do with you,Julian sneered from beside her, shooting Amelia a look of pure disgust. Amelia threw a tantrum and ran away. Who knows whose rich man’s bed she’s warming right now? She’s dragging the entire Bennett name through the mud!

Alexander didn’t even blink. Julian,” he roared, I warned younever speak about Amelia like that again. Are you deliberately defying me?

He whipped around and pinned Sophia with a furious glare. And you! Always stirring shit between the Bennetts and Ameliawhat the hell is your game?

Sophia’s vicious little scheme got called out cold. Her eyes darted wildly, tears already spinning. She shrank behind Julian like a scared kitten. JulianI swear I didntI was just worried about Amelia

Fake. So damn fake.

Watching Sophia’s cheap performance, Alexander felt like someone had slammed a door straight into his skull.

Julian pulled Sophia close, voice all soft and soothing. Don’t worry, Sophia. Alexander will see your good heart eventually.

Amelia rolled her eyes so hard it hurt. I’m not here for our little soap opera. Bye.”

Same damn script every single day with these Bennetts. Exhausting.

Alexander wasn’t about to let her slip awaynot after finally spotting her. He shot Julian and Sophia a death glare that could melt steel, then bolted after Amelia like a man on fire.

Amelia! Wait up!

Thanks to Sebastian’s skyhigh status, Amelia got the prime firstrow seatright in the heart of the ultra- elite zone. The second she sat down, every rich bastard in the room turned and stared like she was the main exhibit.

Who the hell was this stunning girl rocking clothes that screamed discount rack? Total value? Three hundred bucks, tops.

Ryan guided her in with perfect respect. Amelia, I’ll grab you some refreshments. Just relax here.

She nodded. Go ahead, I’m good.

The Bennetts had invested in the auction, so they scored secondrow seats. Alexander planted himself right behind her, stretching his neck like a damn giraffe, whispering nonstop.

Amelia, anything catches your eye? Say the wordI’ll buy it for you!

She ignored him. He leaned in closer, breath hot against her ear. Amelia, just talk to me, please?

Buzz. Buzz. Buzz. Like a mosquito straight from hell.

Amelia’s patience snapped like a cheap rubber band.

Shut the hell up! You’re giving me a headache!she roared, loud enough that half the row jumped.

Alexander froze, then shrank back like a kicked puppy. OkayI’ll be quiet. Don’t be mad.

Sophia slid into her own seat just in time to catch every word. Her eyes locked on Amelia’s back with pure venom, nails carving grooves into the leather armrest.
