Revenge Looks Good on Me (Amelia and Sebastian) novel Chapter 45

Chapter 45 The Disarming of the Law

The entire family swarmed around Sophia as the servants frantically dialed 911

Fainting again?

Amelia didn’t recall Sophia having any kind of heart problem.

She’d pulled this exact same stunt at the Sterling residence.

Whenever she couldn’t handle a situation, she just hit the floor. It was a tired, old trick.

Amelia stood up, grabbed a vase full of water from a side table, and walked over to where they were hovering. She delivered a sharp kick to Julian’s side to clear a path.

Fainted, huh? Let me help her wake up!

Splash!

A gallon of cold water hit Sophia square in the face. She screeched and sat bolt upright. Ah!

See? I told you she was faking

Sophia realized the mood in the room had shifted. She had wanted to hide until the pressure was off, but Amelia had literally washed that plan away.

JulianI feel so sickmy head is spinning

Even after being exposed, Sophia threw herself into Julian’s arm

s, sobbing and playing the victim.

Amelia set the vase aside and sat back on the sofa. Alright, five minutes are up. Do we have a deal?

Sophia’s face was a mask of misery. She kept her eyes closed and just whimpered.

Julian, still nursing the bruise from Amelia’s kick, reached his breaking point.

He let go of Sophia and stood up, stalking toward Amelia. Biological sister or not, I won’t let you keep terrorizing this family,”

Julian reached into his jacket and pulled out a handgun, clicking off the safety and pointing it directly at Amelia’s head.

I thought you were just a delinquent who needed discipline. I see now that you’re a curse on this house?Eudora shricked at the sight of the weapon. Julian! No! You’ll go to prison if you kill her!

Amelia looked at her familyand felt a cold, hollow sense of pity.

Julian wanted to kill her, and Eudora’s only concern was that her son might get a prison sentence. Her life was worth less than a piece of trash to them.

How ironic.

Amelia stood up slowly. She didn’t flinch. She walked right up to the barrel of the gun and pressed her forehead against it, her smile never fading. Julian, if you don’t pull that trigger, I’m going to lose all respect for you.

Julian’s hand began to shake. His mind was racing, full of doubt.

Any normal person would be begging for their life, crying in terror.

Why was she leaning into the gun?

You! Amelia, don’t think I won’t do it! I’m a-

If you’re too scared, let me do it for you!Amelia barked, cutting him off.

Before Julian could finish his sentence, Amelia’s fist swung up, connecting solidly with his jaw.

In a blur of motion, she twisted his wrist, disarmed him, and delivered a kick to his chest that sent him flying backward.

Julian slammed into the glass coffee table, which shattered into a thousand jagged pieces. He went limp.

unconscious.

Julian!

Eudora screamed and ran to him. Seeing him covered in blood and glass shards, she pointed a shaking finger at Amelia.

When will you stop?! He’s your brother! You tried to kill him!

Amelia looked at the gun in her hand, her expression cold.

You didn’t say a word when he had this pointed at my brain. Your double standards are showing, Mom.

The blatant favoritism was sickening.

Your life is worthless compared to my son’s!Eudora shrieked.

Fine.

Amelia stood in the center of the room and pointed the gun at Sophia. I’ll give you a choice. You don’t have to apologize. Just walk over there and slap Julian across the face. What do you say?

Sophia, huddled on the floor, was stunned. You want me to hit Julian?

Just a slap?

Amelia nodded. That’s it. One slap, and you’re off the hook.

She preferred watching the Bennetts turn on each other far more than a simple forced apology.

Sophia’s eyes lit up with a desperate, dark excitement. She started crawling toward Julian.
