Revenge Looks Good on Me (Amelia and Sebastian) novel Chapter 67

Chapter 67 The Predatory Smile

Is your meeting over yet?

Sebastian was clearly annoyed by her retreat. Yes,he grumbled.

His eyes were still full of lingering desire, making Amelia’s heart skip a beat and her face flush.

I’m hungry

She hadn’t eaten since the show started; she was starving.

Sebastian stood up, threw on his jacket, and took her hand. Dinner first. Then dessertyou.

Amelia felt the heat rush to her face at his shameless flirting.

She really wanted to ask him why he liked her.

She’d only been back in Kingsley for a short time. They’d barely met. Surely he didn’t like her just because of a childhood arrangement?

That seemed impossible.

She’d have to find the right time to get the truth out of him.

They headed to the finedining restaurant on the 21st floor of the Westside Hotel. They were just ordering when an uninvited guest appeared.

Mr. Sterling! What a surprise to see you here. And who is this lovely

Dad, this is Sebastian’s fiancée. The eldest Bennett daughter, Amelia,

Phoebe introduced her with a shy, awkward voice. She stole a glance at Amelia and then bit her lip, blushing.

Amelia chuckled. Phoebe was actually quite cute with her chubby cheeks and her timid attitude.

Man, I really want to pinch those cheeks again.

Xavier Vance was stunned by Amelia’s identity, but he misinterpreted his daughter’s shy looks as flirting with Sebastian.

His heart nearly jumped out of his chest in terror.

He grabbed Phoebe’s hand and rushed to say his goodbyes. Mr. Sterling, please enjoy your dinner. We have to be going.

Before Sebastian could even nod, Xavier dragged his daughter out of the restaurant.

Phoebe was confused, wrenching her hand away once they reached the street. Dad! What are you doing? I

wanted to eat with Amelia!

Finished

Xavier ignored her, launching into a frantic lecture. Listen to me stay away from Sebastian Sterling, or our entire family is finished.

Who said I wanted him?Phoebe frowned.

Weren’t you the one screaming that you were going to marry him?

Phoebe puffed out her cheeks. Marry that stonefaced jerk? Gross. I just want to be best friends with Amelia

The thought of her goddessand that breathtaking face made Phoebe blush again.

She waved her father away. Go home and eat alone, Dad. I’m going back to see Amelia.

Xavier watched his daughter march back into the restaurant with newfound confidence.

His head was spinning.

Did I lose my memory?

Yesterday she was throwing a tantrum about making Amelia leave Sebastian.

Today she’s obsessed with her. It was beyond bizarre.

Xavier had fled like he was being chased by a plague. Amelia wondered if she had scared them off.

But one look at Sebastian’s cold expression explained everything. Sebastian, you should try being a bit riendlier. Maybe smile?

Sebastian looked at her, tilting his head in confusion.

Smile?

Ever since his mother died and his father remarried, he’d focused entirely on survival and the family business. He’d forgotten how.

Sebastian frowned, struggling with his facial muscles for a long time before he managed a grimace that looked more like a threat.

Okay, never mind. Let’s just eat.”

Amelia remembered him smiling when they were alone. Why was a simple, public smile so difficult for

him?

Sebastian felt a pang of rejection.

If you were a little nicer to me, I’d smile more.

Am I not nice to you?Amelia asked, baffled.

You tell me.

Sebastian narrowed his eyes, his lips curving into a smirk that looked like he was settling a debt.
