Chapter 69 The Executioner of Memories

My fiancée lives with me. Is there a problem?

Sebastian crossed his arms, raising his chin in a petty, possessive claim of ownership.

Phoebe clicked her tongue. Amelia, I heard things are bad at the Bennett house. You should move in with me instead.

She lowered her voice further. Men are liars. They get you to move in before the wedding and then they lose all respect for you. Don’t fall for it!

Phoebe Vance!

Sebastian let out a low, dangerous growl.

I was just talking! Why are you so mad? Amelia, look at him.

Phoebe hid in Amelia’s arms again, faking terror.

Amelia couldn’t resist the girl’s charms. She patted Phoebe’s head. Don’t be scared. He looks mean, but he’s actually very gentle.”

Phoebe looked up, her brow furrowed.

Gentle?

Miss Goddess is being brainwashed!

Amelia-

That’s enough,Amelia interrupted her. Don’t poke the bear. If you actually push him too far, I can’t save

you.

Phoebe sat up straight, her playful look vanishing. She picked up her fork with a sweet smile. Fine! Let’s just eat!

She knew what Sebastian was capable of. For Amelia’s sake, she’d play nice.

For the rest of the meal, Sebastian didn’t touch his food. He just watched the two of them chatting and laughing.

His jealousy was reaching a boiling point. He was actually considering making the Vance family disappear just so he could have his fiancée back.

When dinner was over, Phoebe refused to let go of Amelia’s arm. Amelia, move in with me. Those Bennett creeps are going to come after you.”

Mentioning the Bennetts made Amelia curious. How do you know they’re coming after me?

Phoebe pulled her phone from her bag and showed her a WhatsApp chat. Look. This idiot Dylan asked me to help Sophia. I told him to go to hell!

The screen was filled with text. Dylan Bennett had asked Phoebe to help set up a meeting with Irene.

Phoebe had seen the news and knew Sophia was a fraud. She’d gone on a fullscale rant against Dylan until he’d given up.

Phoebe looked at the screen with annoyance. I wasn’t even done before the prick blocked me.

The bright red exclamation mark in the chat was unmistakable.

Amelia stared at Dylan’s name. She had very few memories of the superstar actor; he was rarely home.

But when he was, he’d look at her with pure disgust. He treated her like a servant, ordering her to cook and clean the filthiest parts of the house.

If she stopped to breathe for a second, he’d loom over her with a sneer.

Don’t think that having Bennett blood makes you a princess. You’re nothing but a maid for Sophia. Got it?

The memory made her chest ache with a familiar surge of hatred.

Later, Dylan had ordered her onto the roof to catch a bird for Sophia. Amelia had fallen, breaking her leg.

No one in the family took her to the hospital. They left her in the dark storage room to rot.

By the time she saw a doctor, she had a permanent limp.
