Revenge Looks Good on Me
Chapter 82 The Payout or the Prison
Finished
After soothing Sophia, Eudora turned on Cyrus with a sharp tongue. “Listen here, Harrington! I raised Sophia myself. I know her character!”
Cyrus glanced at Amelia, who was standing silently by the mother–daughter duo. He toyed with his phone and mocked them. “So, Mrs. Bennett, you’re suggesting Amelia is the one who poisoned my grandfather?”
Eudora wouldn’t even look at Amelia. “Exactly. Look at the trouble she’s caused since she got back. Besides, she’s disowned. Whatever she does out there has nothing to do with us!”
Eudora’s words were like cold blades plunging into Amelia’s heart.
But Amelia was already numb to this kind of soul–deep agony.
She remembered when she first returned to the Bennetts. Sophia had accused her of stealing a hairclip, and the whole family had descended on her like wolves.
William had beaten her senseless. When she crawled to Eudora for protection, the woman had looked at ner with total detachment.
I brought you back out of kindness, and you turn out to be a thief? Don’t tell anyone you’re Sophia’s sister; you’ll ruin her reputation!”
Amelia had spent that night screaming in pain.
A few days later, Sophia found the clip under her own bed. No one apologized. No one even mentioned he beating.
Now, Eudora was still the same–protecting her “precious” daughter, convinced of her purity.
Even with evidence, they would force Amelia to take the fall. After all, Sophia was the “face” of the Bennett [amily!
Unfortunately for them… Amelia was here to kick that face in..
Amelia turned around and sat down right next to Cyrus in full view of everyone. “Cyrus, let’s just wait for the lab results here.”
Cyrus nodded, sitting as still as a statue, radiating a silent, heavy pressure.
Sophia stood behind Eudora, her mind racing. The poisoning had been a split–second decision, she had completely forgotten about fingerprints. But she hoped that since so many people handled the weedkiller, her prints would be smudged or covered.
If Amelia offended the Harringtons, the Bennetts could finally call off her engagement and send Sophia to the Sterlings instead.
From that day on, she would be the rightful Lady Sterling!
While Sophia was lost in her delusion, Cyrus’s assistant ran into the hall, drenched in sweat.

Chapter 82 The Payout or the Prison
“Sir, the fingerprint analysis is complete.”

Cyrus took the report with two fingers. A single glance made him let out a cold, sharp laugh. “The Bennetts certainly raised a loyal dog, didn’t they?”
Sophia assumed the results cleared her. She adjusted her expression and dropped to her knees before Cyrus with a pathetic whimper.
“Cyrus, Amelia is my sister. She just loves the spotlight too much. Beat her if you must to vent your anger, but please… don’t send her to jail.”
Amelia sat back, watching the performance with a calm, detached air. “Sophia, are you really so sure you didn’t leave a single print when you poured the poison?”
“I’m-” Sophia’s tongue slipped, nearly giving her away. she shot a look of pure hate at Amelia and continued to lie. “I didn’t do it! You’re the one who poisoned him… ah!”
Bang!
Cyrus delivered a brutal kick to Sophia’s chest, sending her flying. He surged to his feet, grabbed her by the hair, and shoved the report into her face, his voice like ice.
“You still want to lie? Your prints are all over the bottle, Sophia!”
Sophia’s eyes went wide with terror. She started shaking her head frantically. “It wasn’t me! Maybe your servants did it! It has nothing to do with me!”
Seeing Cyrus beating Sophia in their own home, William finally found his voice.
“Cyrus! Sophia is right! Your own staff could have done it! How can you be so sure it was my daughter?”
Eudora saw blood on the corner of Sophia’s mouth and lunged at Cyrus, trying to pry his hand away. “Let her go! She’s innocent!”
When Cyrus refused to budge, Eudora turned her fury on Amelia. “What are you just sitting there for? She’s your sister! How can you be so heartless?!”
Amelia, catching stray bullets while just sitting there, looked at the “loving” pair and decided to give them a little push.
“Cyrus, I suggest we just take Sophia to the police station. I’m sure the detectives there won’t show any favoritism toward criminals.”
Eudora was horrified. If Sophia went to jail, her reputation in Kingsley would be nuked!
“You-!”
“I’m just helping my sister!” Amelia cut her off. “Since you and Cyrus can’t agree, let the professionals handle it. It’s the only fair way.”
