Chapter 97 The Vineyard Deal

“Which home are we talking about?” Amelia sneered.

“Oh, stop. The Bennett estate, of course. You’re our flesh and blood. Let’s put the past behind us. We even have your room ready. Please, honey, come home?”

Amelia went quiet, her mind racing.

What is Sophia planning now? She actually talked them into apologizing? Suspicous.

Still, she needed a way to get back inside and tear them down. This was a perfect invitation.

“I might consider it. What’s in it for me?”

“Hey! Families don’t make deals! You’re living with some stranger out there–it’s embarrassing. Just get back here!”

William’s angry voice barked from the background, earning a quick scolding from Eudora.

A second later, Eudora was back to her honey–toned voice. “Amelia, your father’s just stressed. Don’t mind him.”

“I don’t.”

I really don’t. Because I’m coming back to raise some hell.

‘Anyway,” Amelia repeated. “What’s the offer? I’m not moving for free.”

Eudora hesitated for a long moment. “What do you want? I’ll buy you whatever you like.”

Amelia let out a cold laugh. “I want the Westside Vineyard.”

‘Amelia! Don’t push it! That’s Sophia’s graduation gift!” William roared in the background.

‘Fine. Keep it. I’m doing just fine on my own anyway.” She made a move to hang up.

Eudora panicked: “Wait! Fine! The vineyard is yours. Just come home.”

The Westside Vineyard was supposed to be Sophia’s crown jewel for her eighteenth birthday. If they were giving that up, they were planning something big.

If you’re willing to give up the vineyard, you must really miss me. Fine. I’ll move back.”

“Wonderful! Take the car with Sophia after school. Everything will be ready!”

Amelia gave a flat ‘mhin‘ and hung up without another word.

Before she could sit up, she was pulled back under the covers.

“Moving back?” Sebastian’s voice was muffled against her neck. “I can’t afford to keep you?”

Amelia’s eyes sparked with mischief. “If I get in over my head, you better come rescue me, Sebastian.”

“You could just set the place on fire. I’ll cover for you.”

He’d love to see that house burn. He never liked the Bennetts anyway.

Amelia felt a surge of warmth. she grabbed his face and kissed him. “Get up! I’m gonna be late for school!”

She wasn’t about to be late on her first real day back.

After a quick breakfast at the manor, Sebastian dropped her off on his way to the office.

The second she stepped out of the car, every student on campus was staring and whispering.

“That’s her, right? The Amelia girl. She’s gorgeous, but I heard she’s some sugar daddy’s side piece.”

“I liked her on that show, but man, I didn’t think she was that kind of girl.”

Amelia walked past the bulletin board and saw it covered in photos of her getting into luxury cars, along with her old failing grades and shots of her looking like a mess when she first moved from the boonies.

A crowd had gathered, and the gossip was getting louder.

“I thought she was engaged to Sebastian Sterling? Is she really cheating on him with some old guy?”

“Get real. Sebastian Sterling wouldn’t touch her. They probably broke up months ago.”

Just then, Sophia pushed through the crowd, frantically tearing the photos off the board.

“Who did this? How could you be so cruel to my sister! Even if she… made mistakes, it’s none of your business!”

After the fake–hero act, she looked at Amelia with pity. “Amelia, I know about the sugar daddy, but please, listen to me. Just come home. Stop throwing your life away.”
