Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 107
CHAPTER 67-2
You’ve seen me work.” I said.
“I’ve seen you work until midnight. I’ve seen you forget to eat. I’ve seen you fall asleep sitting at the workbench.” He said and I laughed.
“That only happened once.” I said.
“It happened three times.” He said.
“You’re exaggerating.” I said.
“I’m not. And I’ve seen you keep going when most people would have quit.” He said as his hands
tightened slightly around my waist and I looked into his eyes.
“Maybe I had something worth fighting for.” I said as his expression softened.
“You did.” He said as he leaned down and kissed me.
The kiss started gently, but it carried all the emotions neither of us had needed to put into words. I slipped my arms around his neck and he pulled me closer while I smiled against his lips.
When we finally separated, I rested my cheek against his chest.
“I think we need to celebrate.” I said and he laughed.
“I think you’re right.” He said.
“Takeaway?” I asked.
“Absolutely.” He said.
We locked the office and carried the letter upstairs before ordering more food than two people
could possibly finish.
Twenty minutes later, we were sitting cross legged on the workshop floor with Chinese takeaway spread across an old clean workbench between us and Jace handed me a spring roll.
{
“You’ve earned this.” He said.
“I’ve earned several.” I said and he smiled.
“So have I.” He said.
We ate while talking about everything and nothing. We talked about future renovations, we talked
about hiring another mechanic, we talked about finally replacing the old office furniture and I
mentioned painting the upstairs apartment and Jace immediately said he could help.

“You’ll regret offering.” I said.
“Probably.” He said.
“You’ll be covered in paint.” I said.
“I’ve survived worse.” He said and I laughed.
After dinner, I leaned against him while he sat with his back against the workbench.
Charg
His arm wrapped around me naturally and I rested my head against his shoulder. The workshop was quiet around us.
The motorcycles stood beneath the lights. The photograph of Uncle Will watched over everything.
For once, there was no crisis waiting around the corner. There was simply peace and I lifted my
head and looked at Jace.
“Thank you.” I said.
“For what?” He asked.
“For being here.” I said and his fingers brushed gently along my jaw.
“I’m not going anywhere.” He said.
I leaned forward and kissed him again, slower this time, while his hand rested warmly against the
side of my neck.
When we pulled apart, he smiled.
“I love seeing you happy.” He said.
“I think I’m finally getting used to it.” I said.
“You deserve it.” He said and I rested my forehead against his.
“I think I’m finally starting to believe that.” I said.
Neither of us noticed the headlights stopping outside the garage.
Across town, Charles Lawson sat behind his desk while his assistant placed a financial report in front of him.
Charles scanned the figures and then he stopped.
“Lawson Customs?” He asked and his assistant nodded.
“The business is performing significantly better than expected.” The man said as Charles looked
again.

“Their debts?” Charles asked.
“Several have been cleared.” The man said.
“Their revenue?” Charles asked.
“Up substantially.” The man said and Charles leaned back in his chair.
