Summary for Chapter 161: Ride With Me (Paige and Jace)

Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 161

CHAPTER 98-1

Monday morning started with three phone calls before I had even finished my coffee, and by the time I walked downstairs, Mia was already standing behind the counter with a clipboard in one hand and a phone pressed against her ear.

I stopped near the stairs.

“How bad is it?” I asked as she covered the phone with her hand.

“Depends.” She said.

“On what?” I asked.

“Whether you consider being booked solid for three weeks a problem.” She said and I stared at her.

“You’re joking.” I said as she shook her head.

“I wish I was.” She said and I smiled.

After everything we’d been through, hearing that Lawson Customs was busy again felt almost unreal.

I grabbed my coffee and walked toward the counter while Mia finished her call.

“Yes, Thursday afternoon works. We’ll see you then.” She said writing something down and she hung up

and looked at me.

“Another appointment.” Mia said and I laughed.

“How many?” I asked.

“Twenty-seven.” Mia said and my eyebrows lifted.

“Twenty-seven?” I asked.

“Twenty-seven.” She repeated.

I looked toward the workshop, where two motorcycles were already waiting for repairs.

“When did this happen?” I asked.

“People came back.” She said and I smiled.

“They did.” I said as Mia pointed toward the clipboard.

“And they brought friends.” She said and that made me laugh.

For the first time in weeks, the shop sounded like a business again. Tools were running. Customers were walking through the doors. Phones were ringing and Mia was answering questions while Ben organized parts in the storage room and every available workbench was being used.

I walked into the workshop and looked around. The place was crowded, but it was the kind of crowded I wanted.

CHAPTER 8—

25 Points

The kind that meant people trusted us. The kind that meant Lawson Customs was growing and Ben walked over carrying a box.

“Where do you want these?” Ben asked.

“Second shelf.” I said and he looked toward the packed storage area.

“Which second shelf?” He asked and glanced over.

“That’s a good question.” I said and he laughed.

“We’re running out of space.” He said and I looked around again.

He was right.

Parts were stacked higher than they should have been, tools were taking up more room and several motorcycles were waiting outside because there wasn’t enough space inside. I turned toward Mia.

“How much longer can we keep doing this?” I asked and she looked around.

“Honestly?” She asked.

“Honestly.” I said.

“Not much longer.” She said and Ben nodded.

“I’ve been thinking the same thing.” Ben said and I frowned.

“About what?” I asked.

“Expanding.” He said.

The word stayed in my mind. Expanding.

I looked toward the workshop and the idea felt enormous.

“We could add another service bay.” Ben said as Mia nodded

“Maybe two.” Mia said.

“More storage.” Ben said.

“Definitely.” Mia said.

“A proper customer waiting area.” Ben smiled.

“That would be nice.” I said.

I walked slowly around the workshop while I imagined it.

The current building had served us well, but it had never been designed for the number of customers we were getting.

There was unused land beside the property, and if we could eventually purchase it, we could build another section onto the workshop.

CHAPTER 98-4-

Maybe even a showroom:

The thought made my heart beat faster.

“We could actually do this. I said and Mia smiled.

“We could.” She said as Ben nodded.

“You’ve got the customers.” Ben said as I looked toward the front windows.

“That’s what scares me.” I said.

“Why?” He asked.
