Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 184
CHAPTER 109-2
“These weren’t damaged because someone was angry.” She said and I looked at her.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“Look at the scratches.” She said as she pointed toward the tank.
“They’re shallow, and they’re mostly on one side” She added as I studied the marks.
“You’re right.” I said.
“Someone pushed the bike aside.” She said.
“To reach something behind it.” I said and she nodded.
“Exactly.” She said and I looked around the warehouse.
“Something they couldn’t find.” I said as Derek walked toward us.
“I checked the inventory.” Derek said.
“And?” I asked.
“Nothing important is missing.” He said and I looked at Paige and she stood slowly.
“Then they weren’t searching for something on the inventory.” I said and Derek frowned.
“What else could they be searching for?” Derek asked and Paige looked toward the old storage area.
“Records.” She said as my stomach tightened.
“Uncle Will’s records?” I said.
“Maybe.” She said and Derek walked toward the back room.
“We should check.” Derek said as we followed him.
The room contained old boxes, receipts, parts catalogs, and several storage cabinets.
I opened the first box. Nothing. The second. Nothing. The third contained old business documents and Paige started checking them.
“These are from years ago.” She said.
“How far back?” I asked as she looked at the dates.
“Almost fifteen years.” She said as Derek opened another box.
“There’s nothing missing.” Derek said as I rubbed my jaw.
“Then what were they looking for?” I asked but nobody answered.
We continued searching until noon, and eventually, we had to admit that we hadn’t found anything useful.

The police were notified, but there wasn’t enough evidence to identify the intruder and Sarah arrived later and inspected the damage.
“Any idea who did it? She asked and I shook my head.
“Not yet.” I said and she looked at the cameras.
“They knew what they were doing.” Sarak said.
“That’s what we thought.” I said and she glanced toward Paige.
“Are you okay?” Sarah asked.
“I’m fine.” Paige answered and Sarah nodded.
“Keep the area secured until we finish documenting everything.” Sarah said.
“We will.” I said.
She left with the officers, and the rest of us continued cleaning up. Paige grabbed a broom and started sweeping broken glass near the entrance as I walked over.
“You don’t have to do that.” I said and she smiled.
“I work here.” She said.
“You own the place.” I said.
“Exactly.” She said and I took the broom from her.
“I’ve got it.” I said and she laughed.
“You’re impossible.” She said.
“I’ve been told.” I said.
We finished cleaning the warehouse before moving the remaining motorcycles back into position.
The afternoon heat had started building, and sweat covered my back beneath my shirt and Paige wiped her forehead.
“This is going to be a long day.” She said and I smiled.
“At least we’re together.” I said and she looked at me.
“That’s what matters.” She said as I reached for her hand.
“It is.” I said.
We were walking toward the main gate when Derek called out.
“Jace.” Derek called and I turned.
He was crouched near the gravel beside the building.
“What?” I asked.

“Come look at this.” He said and Palye and I walked over.

Derek pointed toward the ground and there was a fresh tyre track pressed deeply into the damp gravel so I crouched beside it.
“What do you see?” I asked and Derek shook his head.
“I’ve seen this pattern before.” Derek said as my stomach tightened.
“Where?” I asked and he looked toward me.
“At the Lawson Customs fire.” He said and I stared at the track.
The tread pattern was distinctive, and the deep diagonal marks matched the photographs we’d kept from the earlier incident and Paige stepped closer.
“Are you sure?” She asked and Derek nodded.
“I’ve got photographs.” Derek said.
