Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 185
CHAPTER 110-1
Paige’s POV
By Thursday morning, Lawson Customs had finally settled back into its usual rhythm, although the break-in at the salvage yard was still sitting heavily in the back of my mind.
I had tried not to think about the message.
You should have left the past alone.
I had tried even harder not to think about the second one.
Next time, we’ll take something you can’t rebuild.
But every time I walked through the workshop, I found myself checking the doors, watching the windows, and wondering who might be watching us from outside.
I hated feeling that way.
I wanted Lawson Customs to feel like home again. So when I walked into the workshop just after eight, I decided to focus on the work in front of me.
Ben was already working on a motorcycle near the back bay, and Mia was sitting at the office computer while talking to a customer on the phone.
I grabbed my coffee and walked toward Ben.
“How’s it going?” I asked as he looked up.
“Good, although I think the engine is trying to ruin my morning.” He said making me laugh.
“Engines have terrible manners.” I said and he smiled.
“That’s what I’ve been saying.” He said.
I checked the restoration sitting beneath the lights near the center of the workshop.
The motorcycle belonged to Oliver Hayes, and we’d spent weeks restoring it.
Oliver was a private collector who owned several rare motorcycles, and when he’d first brought this one to Lawson Customs, it had been in terrible condition.
The frame had needed work. The engine had been rebuilt and several original components had been restored instead of replaced, because Oliver wanted the motorcycle to retain as much of its original character as possible.
I’d spent countless hours on it. So had Ben and now it looked incredible.
I walked around it slowly, checking the final details.
The chrome had been polished until it gleamed beneath the overhead lights, the leather seat had been restored, and the engine looked almost new while still maintaining the character of the original machine.

“You happy with it?” Ben asked and I nodded.
“Very.” I said.
“Think Oliver will be?” He asked,
“I hope so.” I said and Mia called from the office.
“He’s here.” Mia called out.

I looked toward the front door and Oliver walked inside wearing a dark jacket and jeans, and the moment he saw the motorcycle, he stopped and stared at it for several seconds.
“That’s mine?” He asked and I smiled.
“It is.” I said as he walked closer.
“I don’t even recognize it.” He said and I laughed.
“That’s usually a good sign.” I said.
He slowly circled the motorcycle, and his expression changed from surprise to genuine amazement.
“You restored the original tank.” He said.
“We did.” I said.
“And the seat?” He asked.
“Original leather, although we had to repair most of it.” I said and he crouched slightly to inspect the engine.
“You kept the original fittings.” He said.
“Wherever we could.” I said and Oliver looked at Ben.
“You did this?” He asked and Ben shook his head.
“We both did.” Ben said.
“I’ve had restorations done all over the country, and I’ve never seen anyone pay this much attention to the details.” He said making my chest warmed.
“Thank you.” I said as he looked at me.
“No, I’m serious.” He said pointing toward the motorcycle.
“This isn’t just a repair job.” He said and I smiled.
“We wanted it to feel like the bike you remembered.” I said.
“You succeeded.” He said.
He pulled out his phone and took several photographs and then he stood back.
“I can’t believe how good it looks.” He said and I smiled.
