Summary for Chapter 187: Ride With Me (Paige and Jace)

Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 187

CHAPTER 111-1

The person across the road disappeared before I could get a proper look at their face, but the feeling they left behind didn’t disappear with them.

I stood beside Ben near the workshop entrance, watching the dark SUV turn the corner and vanish between the buildings.

“Did you get the plate?” I asked and Ben shook his head.

“No, they were too far away.” He said as I nodded slowly.

“Did you recognize the vehicle?” I asked.

“No, but I remember seeing it earlier.” He said and my stomach tightened.

“Where?” I asked.

“Near the back road this morning.” He said and I looked at him.

“You saw it twice?” I asked.

“Maybe three times.” He said.

That was enough to make my skin crawl so I reached for my phone and called Jace and he answered almost immediately.

“Hey, what’s wrong?” He asked.

“Someone was watching the garage.” I said and his voice changed.

“What happened?” He asked.

“Ben noticed a dark SUV across the street, and the person inside was taking photographs of Lawson Customs.” I said.

“Are they still there?” He asked.

“No.” I said.

“Did you get the plate?” He asked.

“No.” I said.

“Did you see the driver?” He asked.

“Not clearly.” I said and I looked toward Ben.

“Anything else?” I asked but he shook his head.

I told Jace everything we knew, and he was silent for a moment.

“Stay inside.” He said.

Ham” I said.

Lock the doors.” He said.

“I will.” I said.

“I’m sending Derek and Mason.” He said.

“Jace, you don’t need to send everyone.” I said.

“I’m sending them.” He said.

I knew that tone. There was no point arguing.

“Okay.” I said.

“I’ll be there as soon as I can.” He said.

The call ended, and Ben locked the front door while I checked the workshop windows.

Claim

The familiar building suddenly felt different. Every window looked like a possible place for someone to watch us.

Every passing vehicle caught my attention and I hated it.

I hated that someone could stand across the street and photograph my business while I was trying to work and Ben noticed my expression.

“You okay?” Ben asked.

“I’m fine.” I said as he raised an eyebrow.

“You’re staring at every car.” He said.

“I know.” I said.

“You don’t look fine.” He said and I sighed.

“I’m trying.” I said so he nodded.

“That’s fair.” He said.

We waited. Ten minutes passed. Then fifteen. Then twenty and the SUV didn’t return.

Finally, Jace arrived with Derek and Mason and Jace walked through the door quickly, and the moment he saw me, he crossed the room.

“You okay?” He asked and I nodded.

“I’m fine.” I said as he pulled me into his arms anyway.

“Tell me exactly what happened.” He said.

I repeated everything and Derek walked outside to check the road while Mason looked around the parking lot. But Jace stayed beside me.

CHAPTER 1.

“Did they approach you?” He asked.

No. I said.

“Did they speak to anyone?” He asked.

“No.” I said.

“Did they photograph you?” He asked.

“I think so.” I said and his jaw tightened.

“I don’t like this.” He said.

“Neither do I.” I said and Derek returned several minutes later.

“Nothing.” Derek said so Jace looked at him.
