Summary for Chapter 209: Ride With Me (Paige and Jace)

Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 209

CHAPTER 122-1

Victor’s POV

I stared at the message on my phone for several seconds, because the words were simple, but the consequences were anything but.

PARTIAL PRINT CONFIRMED.

Travis Cole had left his fingerprint on the listening device, and now the police had a connection between him and Lawson Customs.

It wasn’t enough for an arrest yet, but it was enough to create a problem.

I slipped the phone into my pocket and looked across the clubhouse.

Damien was sitting at the bar, while several other Black Reapers were gathered around the pool table.

Nobody was laughing anymore. They had all noticed the change in my expression.

“Where’s Travis?” I asked and Damien looked at me.

“Garage out back.” Damien said.

“Get him.” I said and Damien frowned.

“Why?” Damien asked.

“Because I said so.” Victor said.

He held my stare for a moment before getting up. I walked toward the back door, and a few minutes later, Damien returned with Travis following behind him as Travis looked confused.

“You wanted me?” Travis asked and I nodded.

“Come with me.” I said.

He followed me into the office, and I closed the door behind us and Travis looked around.

“What’s going on?” Travis asked.

“The police found your fingerprint.” Victor said and his face changed immediately.

“What?” Travis asked.

“Your fingerprint was recovered from the listening device at Lawson Customs.” I said and Travis shook his head.

“I wore gloves.” Travis said.

“You wore gloves when you installed it, but apparently you didn’t wear them every second you were near the device.” I said.

“I didn’t touch it.” Travis said and I stared at him.

“Don’t lie to me.” I said.

I’m not. He said as I walked toward the desk.

“The police don’t have enough to arrest you yet, but they’re looking.” said and Travis swallowed.

“So what do we do?” He asked.

“You disappear.” I said as he stared at me.

“For how long?” Travis asked.

“Indefinitely.” I said as his face hardened.

“I’m not leaving.” Travis said and I looked at him.

“That’s not a request.” I said.

“I’ve got a family.” Travis said.

“Then protect them by leaving.” I said.

“I haven’t done anything.” Travis said and I laughed quietly.

“You’re standing in front of me because you planted a listening device inside Lawson Customs.” I said as Travis shook his head.

“You told me to.” He said.

“I told you to gather information.” I said.

“You knew what I was doing.” Travis said.

“I knew enough.” I said as he stepped closer.

“So now you’re throwing me away because the police found a fingerprint?” Travis said as I stared at him.

“I’m giving you a chance to disappear.” I said.

“No.” Travis said.

The word hung between us so I slowly turned toward him.

“What did you say?” I asked.

“I’m not running because you made a mistake.” He said.

“My mistake?” I asked.

“You sent me in without proper protection, and now you’re blaming me.” He said and my expression hardened.

“Choose your next words carefully.” I said but Travis shook his head.

“You need me.” Travis said.

“No.” I said,

“You’ve got the Iron Vipers breathing down your neck, and you’re losing people.” He said.

“I said no.” I said.

“You think you can just replace me?” He asked and I walked toward him.
