Summary for Chapter 274: Ride With Me (Paige and Jace)

Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 274

CHAPTER 156-2

Ethan printed the symbol and walked toward the board.

“Where should I put it?” Ethan asked as Jace pointed toward the center.

“Right there.” Jace said.

Ethan pinned the photograph beside Mr. Black’s name and I stared at it.

“This is getting bigger.” I said as Jace looked at me.

“It already was.” He said as I folded my arms.

“But now we’re finding connections between things that happened years ago and things happening right now.” I said.

“That means we need to stop looking at each problem separately.” He said and I nodded.

Ethan added another note beneath the symbol.

UNKNOWN ORGANIZATION OR INDIVIDUAL

Charlotte stared at the board.

“There was something else.” Charlotte said and everyone turned toward her.

“What?” I asked as she looked uncomfortable.

“Victor used to say that the symbol was older than the Black Reapers.” She said and my heart skipped.

“What does that mean?” I asked.

“I don’t know.” She said.

“Did he ever say where it came from?” I asked.

“No.” She said as she shook her head.

“But he once told Damien that the symbol was never supposed to appear again.” She said and Ethan stopped writing.

“Those were his exact words?” Ethan asked.

“Yes.” She said.

“When?” Ethan asked.

“A few months ago.” She said and Jace exchanged a look with Derek.

“So the symbol isn’t just connected to Victor.” Derek said.

“No. I don’t think it is.” Charlotte said and I walked closer to the board.

“Then we need to find out what it means.” I said as Ethan nodded.

“I’m already looking through everything we have. Ethan said as he opened another folder on his laptop.

“I’ve searched the digital records, the business files, and every photograph we’ve scanned so far.” Ethan

said.

“And?” I asked.

“Nothing obvious.” He said as Charlotte stood.

“Maybe there won’t be anything obvious.” She said as I looked at her.

“What do you mean?” I asked as she pointed toward the board.

“If Victor kept the symbol hidden, then whoever created it probably wanted it hidden too.” She said.

That was the first useful thing Charlotte had said all night.

I didn’t like admitting it, but she was right. Secrets didn’t stay buried because they were harmless.

They stayed buried because someone was afraid of what would happen if they were uncovered and Ethan continued searching.

I moved toward the table where Uncle Will’s journals had been placed.

There were several of them, stacked carefully beneath the old photograph we had discovered earlier and I touched the top cover.

“Maybe we’re looking in the wrong place.” I said and Jace looked at me.

“What are you thinking?” Jace asked.

“Uncle Will.” I said and Ethan frowned.

“We already searched his journals.” Ethan said.

“Not all of them.” I said.

“We went through most of them.” Ethan said.

“Most isn’t all.” I said as I pulled the oldest journal toward me.

The leather cover was worn, and the corners had softened from years of use. Uncle Will had carried this journal everywhere, and I remembered seeing it on his workbench when I was younger.

I opened it.

The first pages contained ordinary notes about motorcycles, customers, repairs, and parts.

Then came pages about the warehouse so I turned slowly through them.

Nothing.

I kept going. More repair notes. More names. More dates.

Then I reached a page that had been folded at the corner and I stopped.

What is that?” I asked as Jace moved closer.

carefully unfolded the page and at first, I saw nothing unusual.

Then I turned it toward the light and there was a faint mark on the paper.

My heart began beating faster.

“Ethan.” I said and he came around the table.

“What?” He asked as I pointed.

“Look.” I said and he leaned over the journal.

The mark was barely visible, because someone had drawn it in faded ink and then written over it with

another note.

Ethan grabbed a flashlight from the table and angled it across the page.

The symbol became clearer.

Three lines. One circle. The same shape.

I couldn’t breathe for a moment.

“No.” I said as Jace looked at me.

“What?” Jace asked as I turned the journal toward him.

“The symbol.” I said and his face changed as Derek stepped closer.

“That’s the same one.” Derek said.

Ethan carefully photographed the page before touching it.

“This wasn’t added recently.” Ethan said.

“How do you know?” I asked.

“Because of the ink and paper.” He said as he looked at the writing surrounding it.

“This page is from the same period as the warehouse investigation.” He added and Charlotte moved toward the table.

“I told you Victor had it.” Charlotte said and I stared at the symbol.
