Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 281
CHAPTER 159-2
“Good.” I said and Patge appeared at the clubhouse eritrance.
“What happened?” She asked as I looked at her.
“Derek found something at the community hall.” I said and her face went pale.
“What kind of something?” She asked.
“I don’t know yet.” I said and she grabbed my arm.
“Jace.” She said.
“I need you to stay here.” I said.
“I know.” She said.
She nodded, although I could see how badly she wanted to come with me.
“Bring everyone home.” She said.
“I will.” I said.
I rode toward the community hall with two members following behind me, and the entire trip felt like a
countdown.
When we arrived, police vehicles were already approaching and Derek stood behind the perimeter with Mason, and his expression told me this wasn’t a false alarm. So I pulled my bike to a stop.
“What is it?” I asked.
“Vehicle outside the hall.” Mason said.
“Anyone inside?” I asked.
“No.” He said.
“Did anyone approach it?” I asked.
“No.” He said and I nodded.
“Good.” I said.
The bomb squad arrived shortly afterward, and everyone was moved farther away while they handled the situation.
I hated standing there. I hated watching strangers in protective equipment work while knowing something dangerous was sitting only a short distance away from the building where our families regularly gathered.
Paige had always been the one to remind me that patience mattered.
That morning, patience felt impossible but eventually, one of the officers approached.

The device has been safely dealt with.” The officer said.
released a breath I hadn’t realized I’d been holding.
“Anyone hurt?” I asked,
“No.” He said and I closed my eyes briefly.
Nobody had been hurt. That was what mattered and Derek walked over.
“They were serious.” Derek said as I looked at him.
“They wanted us to know they could reach the families.” I said as Mason shook his head.
“They could have killed people.” Mason said.
“They didn’t.” I said.
“But they tried.” He said.
I couldn’t argue with that.
We returned to the clubhouse, and the moment I walked through the doors, Paige came toward me.
She didn’t ask for details. She simply wrapped her arms around me and I held her tightly.
For several seconds, neither of us spoke.
Her heart was beating rapidly against my chest, and I could feel the same fear I had been carrying all morning reflected in her embrace.
“They’re safe.” I whispered and she nodded against me.
“I know.” She said.
“We got there in time.” I said.
“I know.” She said as she pulled back and looked at me.
“I was so scared.” She admitted.
“So was I.” I said.
