Summary for Chapter 282: Ride With Me (Paige and Jace)

Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 282

CHAPTER 160-1

Jace’s POV

Victor’s voice stayed in my head long after the call ended, because every word he had spoken carried the same message, and that message was simple enough to understand.

He wasn’t finished.

I stood in the clubhouse office with the phone still in my hand while Paige watched me from across the

room.

“What did he say exactly?” She asked and I looked at her.

“That the attack at the community hall was only a warning.” I said and her face tightened.

“And he sounded confident.” She said.

“He did.” I said as Derek walked into the room.

“We’re locking the clubhouse down tonight.” Derek said and I nodded.

“Everyone stays here unless we know exactly where they’re going.” I said and Derek was already making calls.

“I’ll organize patrols.” Derek said.

“Rotate them every few hours.” I said.

“I will.” He said and Mason appeared behind him.

“I’ve already checked the outer fence, and I’ll get another team on the west side.” Mason said.

“Good.” I said.

The clubhouse had never felt small before, but that night it felt like every hallway had become another place we needed to watch.

Security lights were switched on around the property, doors were checked twice, and members were positioned around the perimeter. Nobody complained because everyone understood why it was

necessary.

The families were staying inside. That meant the children needed somewhere safe to sleep, and the guest rooms quickly became crowded with blankets, pillows, stuffed animals, and exhausted parents trying to convince their children that everything was fine.

Paige spent most of the evening helping Emma organize everyone.

“Who gets this room?” Paige asked.

“Three kids and two adults.” Emma replied.

“Then we’ll put the younger ones together.” Paige said.

CHAPTER I.

That mattered.

know everyone is worried.” I said as I stood up and the room became quiet.

“We all have families here, and we all understand what happened today.” I continued.

I looked toward the hallway where the children were sleeping.
