Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 283
CHAPTER 160-2
“We protect our families, and we keep living.” Paige said as I nodded.
“We’re going to stay careful, but we’re not going to let Victor decide what our lives look like.” I said as Mason lifted his coffee cup.
“That sounds good to me.” Mason said.
A few quiet laughs followed, and the tension eased slightly.
Nobody expected the fear to disappear, but sometimes a little laughter was enough to keep it from taking
over.
The night passed slowly.
Every few hours, members changed positions around the property, and every vehicle approaching the clubhouse was checked before anyone was allowed inside.
I slept for perhaps two hours before waking just before sunrise.
The first thing I noticed was Paige beside me. She was already awake.
“You sleep at all?” She asked.
“Not much.” I said and she smiled.
“Neither did I.” She said as I reached for her hand.
“You okay?” I asked.
“I will be. I was thinking about breakfast.” She said as she sat up and I stared at her.
“Breakfast?” I asked.
“The children still need to eat.” She said.
“You’re thinking about breakfast after everything that happened?” I asked.
“Especially after everything that happened.” She said as she got out of bed.
“Fear doesn’t mean we stop doing ordinary things.” She added and I smiled.
“You’re right.” I said.
We went downstairs together and the kitchen slowly came alive as Emma and several of the other women joined Paige, and within minutes the clubhouse smelled like bacon, eggs, toast, and coffee.
The children began appearing one by one and Sophia came downstairs wearing mismatched socks, and she immediately asked for pancakes.
“You said we could have pancakes.” Sophia said and Paige looked at Emma.
“Did I?” Paige asked.

CHAPTER 16
know she was capable of protecting herself, and I knew we had security around the garage, but knowing rose things didn’t stop me from worrying.
An hour later, my phone rang.
Derek.
“We have something.” Derek said and my stomach tightened.
“What?” I asked.
“You need to come to Lawson Customs.” Derek said as I was already reaching for my keys.
“Why?” I asked and there was a pause.
“Someone left a message.” Derek said and I stopped.
“What kind of message?” I asked.
“You should see it yourself.” Derek said.
I drove to Lawson Customs with Mason beside me, and when we arrived, Derek was standing near the front entrance.
Paige stood several feet away and she looked angry so I walked toward her.
“What happened?” I asked and she pointed toward the garage door.
Someone had written across the fresh metal in large black letters.
YOU CAN’T HIDE YOUR FAMILIES FOREVER.
I stared at the message and the words were simple, but the timing made them terrifying.
