Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 285
CHAPTER 161-2
“Morning, George.” I said as he glanced around.
“Busy.” He said.
“Very.” I said.
“Good.” He said as he placed the folder on the sounter.
“I brought the paperwork for that restoration we discussed.” He added and I opened it.
“We can have it ready for you next week.” I said.
“Perfect.” He said as he looked at me for a moment and then his expression changed.
“I heard about the message.” He said and my hand stopped moving.
“News travels fast.” I said.
“It always does.” He said as he leaned against the counter.
“You removed it?” He asked.
“This morning.” I said.
“Good.” He said.
I expected him to tell me to be careful or to consider closing for a few days. Instead, he smiled.
“You’re doing exactly what you should be doing.” He said and I frowned.
“What?” I asked.
“Standing your ground.” He said as I looked toward the workshop.
“I don’t feel particularly brave.” I said.
“You don’t have to feel brave.” He said as he nodded toward the garage.
“You just have to keep opening the doors.” He added and I smiled.
“Thank you.” I said as George picked up his folder.
“You built this business from the ground up, Paige, and nobody gets to take it away from you because they’re trying to scare you.” He said.
His words stayed with me after he left.
The morning continued.
Ben and Aiden worked side by side, while Mia handled the office and kept the schedule moving. I moved between both workshops, checking repairs and talking to customers, and slowly the fear became something I could carry without allowing it to control me.

CHAPTER 16-
At lunch, Jace called.
“How are you?” He asked.
“Busy.” I said.
“That’s good.” He said.
“You sound surprised.” I said.
“I was expecting you to tell me you were closing. He said.
“I’d rather eat broken glass.” I said and he laughed.
“I figured.” He said.
“The message is gone.” I said.
“Derek checked the cameras.” He said.
“Anything?” I asked.
“Not yet.” He said and I leaned against the office desk.
“I was scared this morning.” I said.
“I know.” He said.
“Mia noticed.” I said.
“She’s observant.” He said.
