Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 291
CHAPTER 164-2
“I have always been efficient.” She said.
“You have become more efficient.” I said.
“That is because you finally stopped trying to do everything yourself.” She said.
Her words made me pause because she was right.
For years, Lawson Customs had depended almost entirely on me, because I had been the mechanic, manager, estimator, parts coordinator, receptionist, bookkeeper, and problem solver. If something needed to happen, I made it happen, and if something went wrong, I fixed it. If someone called in sick, I covered the shift, while customer complaints, paperwork, and late repairs all became my responsibility.
Now I looked around the workshop and realized that none of that was necessary anymore.
Mia handled the office, Ben could complete repairs independently, and Aiden was mentoring him while taking on larger jobs, even though he had only been here a short time.
The new workshop was running smoothly, and customers kept coming through the doors because they trusted the name.
The equipment was better than anything Uncle Will and I had once imagined, and as I looked around at the lifts, workbenches, diagnostic equipment, and motorcycles waiting for their turn, I could almost picture him standing beside me.
He would have complained about the noise, criticized somebody’s tool organization, and then spent the rest of the day pretending he was not proud, which made me smile.
“You okay?” Ben asked.
“Yeah. I was thinking about my uncle.” I said.
“He would have liked this place.” Ben said.
“He would have loved it.” I said as I swallowed as I looked around again.
“When I was younger, he talked about turning Lawson Customs into something bigger, but I never really understood what he meant.” I added.
“And now?” He asked.
“Now I do.” I said.
I looked toward the front of the building as another customer walked through the door.
“He wanted this place to become a real business, but I think he wanted something more.” I said.
“What?” He asked.
“A place where people could learn, build something, and have a reason to be proud of what they did.” I said and Ben smiled.

“For everyone?” She asked and Charles nodded.
figured nobody should be working through lunch.” He said and Ben immediately appeared from the workshop.
“What did you bring?” Ben asked and Charles laughed.
“Enough for everyone.” Charles said as Aiden looked inside one of the bags.

“That is a lot of food.” Aiden said.
“I was told this place has been busy.” Charles said and I crossed my arms.
“Who told you that?” I asked.
“Your mother.” He said as I stared at him.
“You talked to Mom?” I asked.
“Briefly.” He said.
“And she told you to feed my entire staff?” I asked.
“She suggested it.” He said.
I laughed as Charles began placing containers across the counter, and everyone gathered around.
There were sandwiches, salads, fries, and drinks, with enough food for everyone and Ben looked impressed.
“Your dad might be my favorite person now.” Ben said as I laughed.
“Careful, because he will start expecting an invitation to everything.” I said.
Charles looked at me, and I noticed the small smile on his face.
“I wouldn’t mind that.” Charles said.
For a moment, neither of us spoke, and then I smiled.
“Thank you.” I said and his expression softened.
“You’re welcome.” He said.

The workshop filled with conversation as everyone grabbed lunch, and I watched my employees laugh together while Charles handed out food like he had been doing it for years.
It was strange seeing my father inside the business my uncle had dreamed about, especially while he was feeding the people helping me build it.
“This place has changed.” Charles said as he looked around.
“It has.” I said and he nodded.
“Your uncle would be proud.” He said and my smile faded briefly.
