Summary for Chapter 341: Ride With Me (Paige and Jace)

Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 341

CHAPTER 189-2

“Did Kyle cover your shift yesterday?” One of the club members asked and I nodded while reaching for the

bread.

“He did, and he handled things well” I said.

Mia had mentioned the same thing earlier, and Aiden had also said Kyle was settling in quickly.

“He seems to be fitting in.” Jace said.

“He is. He has experience, and Ben seems to like working with him.” I replied as Jace nodded.

“That’s good.” He said.

The conversation moved on almost immediately, and I was grateful for that.

Lawson Customs was my life, but it didn’t have to dominate every conversation anymore.

That realization settled quietly inside me as I looked around the table.

There had been a time when I believed everything depended on me.

If I didn’t work, things fell apart. If I didn’t solve a problem, nobody else would. If I didn’t protect the business, someone would take it from me.

I had lived like that for years.

Now, I had Mia handling the office, Ben growing into his role, Aiden mentoring him, and Kyle helping keep the workshop running.

I still cared deeply about every part of the business, but I no longer felt like I had to carry it alone.

That felt like freedom.

After dinner, everyone moved outside and the children ran across the grass, and Diesel immediately became the center of attention again.

He chased a ball for them, returned it several times, and then eventually dropped onto the ground with a dramatic sigh making the children laugh.

I watched them from the porch while Jace stood behind me, his arms wrapped around my waist.

“This is nice.” I whispered.

“It is.” He said.

“I could get used to this.” I said as Jace kissed the side of my head.

“You should.” He said and I leaned back against him.

“There was a time when I thought having a peaceful day was impossible.” I said.

“You deserve peaceful days.” He said.

CHAPTER

“So do you.” I said and he was quiet for a moment.

“There is something that I’ve been meaning to ask you.” He said.

“And what’s that?” asked So Jace dug into his pocket looking for something. And when he finally got it out he turned to look at me and then he got down on one knee.

“Holy shit.” I said.

“Paige Lawson. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me and I don’t think I would be the man I am today. You’ve brought something out in me that I thought was long gone. But you’ve brought it out in me. You bring out the best in me. Will you marry me?” He asked.

“Hoy shit.” I said again and Jace laughed.

“Will you?” He asked.

“Yes.” I said and he placed the ring on my finger and he kissed me while applause erupted behind us as Jace stood up and started kissing me.

The sun was beginning to lower, the children were still playing, and the clubhouse was filled with voices.

Nothing was happening. Nothing needed fixing. Nobody needed saving.

For once, ordinary was enough. But all the women wanted to see the ring and they were impressed by

Jace’s taste.

I realized then that these were the moments I wanted to remember.

Not the fights. Not the threats. Not the nights when fear had kept me awake.
