Summary for Chapter 348: Ride With Me (Paige and Jace)

Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 348

CHAPTER 192-1

Kyle’s POV

Victor’s message had been sitting on my phone for twenty minutes, and had already read it enough times to know exactly what he wanted.

COME TONIGHT. WE NEED TO TALK.

There was nothing complicated about the message, but the pressure behind it was enough to make my stomach tighten.

I had expected the work at Lawson Customs to be difficult, because Paige was more observant than Victor had originally suggested, but I had not expected Victor to start demanding results so quickly.

I parked several blocks from the industrial lot and walked the rest of the way, because I didn’t want anyone seeing my truck near the meeting place.

Victor was already waiting beside the SUV, while Damien leaned against the passenger door with his arms folded.

“You’re late.” Victor said.

“I am three minutes late.” I said.

“That is still late.” Victor said.

I swallowed my irritation because arguing with Victor had never ended well.

“I had to make sure nobody followed me.” I said and Victor studied me for several seconds.

“Did anyone?” He asked.

“No.” I said.

“Are you sure?” He asked.

“Yes.” I said as he stepped closer.

“Then tell me what you have.” Victor said.

I explained what I had learned about the garage, the employees, the customers, and the office routines, and I also told him that Paige had started noticing small discrepancies.

Victor listened without interrupting.

“She noticed?” Victor asked.

“She always notices the parts and paperwork were out of place, but she didn’t suspect me.” I said and Victor’s expression remained hard.

“You’re getting nervous.” He said.

“I’m being careful.” I said.

CHAPTER 19

You’re becoming nervous because you know what happens if you fail.” Victor said and Damien pushed away from the SUV.

“Victor, give him a minute.” Damien said but Victor ignored him.

“The vault.” Victor said and my stomach tightened again.

“I heard Paige mention it.” I said as Victor’s eyes narrowed.

“Tell me exactly what she said.” Victor said.

“She said she wanted to check the clubhouse vault with Jace and Ethan.” I said.

“Why?” He asked.

“I don’t know.” I said.

“You should know.” He said.

“I only overheard the conversation.” I said as Victor stared at me, and I could feel the pressure building.

“You have been inside that business for weeks, Kyle, and I need more than guesses.” He said.

“I understand.” I said.

“No, you don’t.” Victor snapped as he stepped closer until there was barely any space between us.

“Paige is building something that gives the Iron Vipers stability, and if that stability disappears, the club becomes easier to hurt.” Victor continued.

“I know.” I said.

“Then prove it.” He said.

I nodded because there was nothing else I could say and Victor finally stepped back.

“Keep watching her.” He said.

“I will.” I said.

“Find out what’s in that vault.” Victor said.

“I will.” I said,

“And stop getting comfortable.” He said.

The words followed me all the way back to my truck.

I had thought the hardest part would be getting inside Lawson Customs, but now I was beginning to understand that staying there was going to be harder.
