Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 351

CHAPTER 193-2

“Can you do it?” I asked

“I can.” He said.

“Quietly.” I said.

“I understand.” He said.

He walked away without asking more questions, and I returned to work.

I tried to forget about it, but the thought stayed in the back of my mind.

By late afternoon, Derek sent me a message.

MOST OF IT CHECKS OUT. I NEED TO TALK TO YOU.

I immediately stepped into the office and called him.

“What did you find?” I asked.

“Nothing major.” He said.

“That doesn’t sound reassuring.” I said.

“It’s not supposed to.” He said and I leaned against the desk.

“Start from the beginning.” I said.

“His address is legitimate, his driver’s license checks out, and his employment history matches what he gave you.” He said.

“That’s good.” I said.

“It is.” He said.

“And?” I asked.

“There are three previous employers listed.” He said and I waited.

“Two are easy to verify, and both gave him good references.” He added.

“That sounds normal.” I said.

“It does.” He said and I could hear papers moving on his end.

“The third one is different.” I said.

“How?” I asked.

“I can’t reach anyone.” He said.

“Did the business close?” I asked.

CHAPTER 1932.

“That’s what I’m trying to establish.” He said.

“Who was the employer?” I asked.

“Redline Motor Works” He said but the name meant nothing to me.

“Have you searched for them?” I asked.

“Yes, and that is where it gets strange.” He said as my grip tightened around the phone.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

Claim

“The company existed, and Kyle did work there according to the employment records, but the listed phone number is disconnected.” He said.

“Could be an old business.” I said.

“It could.” He said.

“You said most of his information checks out.” I said.

“It does.” He said.

“Then why are you concerned?” I asked.

“Because I found something else.” He said and I straightened.

“What?” I asked.

“I am still verifying it, but I found a second address connected to Redline Motor Works, and it was registered to the company for less than a year.” He said.

“Where?” I asked and Derek gave me the address and I wrote it down.

“Does Kyle have any connection to that address?” I asked.

“Not directly.” He said.

“Then what are we looking at?” I asked.

“I don’t know yet.” He said as I stared at the paper.

“Keep digging.” I said.

“I will. Don’t confront him.” He said.

“I wasn’t planning to.” I said.

“Good.” He said.

–

I ended the call and sat quietly for a moment and there was still no proof that Kyle had done anything wrong.

A company closing, changing addresses, or becoming unreachable didn’t automatically mean someone was hiding something.

knew that.

However, experience had taught me that small inconsistencies mattered.

I folded the paper and placed it inside the desk drawer.

Then Diesel appeared in the doorway and he looked at me.

“You are becoming paranoid too, aren’t you?” I asked as his tail moved once and I smiled.

“Come here.” I said.

He walked over, and I scratched behind his ears.

“Good boy.” I said.

His head immediately turned toward the workshop. His ears lifted and I followed his gaze.

Kyle was walking toward the office and Diesel stood while his body stiffened.

The growl started again and Kyle stopped.

“What did I do this time?” Kyle asked as I stood slowly.

“I honestly don’t know.” I said and Diesel stepped in front of me so Kyle gave a nervous laugh.

“He really doesn’t like me.” Kyle said.

“I’ve noticed.” I said.

Kyle looked at Diesel for several seconds, and then his expression changed so slightly that I almost missed it.

His smile disappeared before returning.

“I should get back to work.” Kyle said as he turned away.

Diesel watched him leave and I looked down at my dog.

“You know something I don’t, don’t you?” I asked as he stared toward the workshop.

I wished he could answer.

That evening, Derek came back to the clubhouse, and Jace joined us in the office.

“I found another name.” Derek said and I looked at him.
