Summary for Chapter 359: Ride With Me (Paige and Jace)

Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 359

CHAPTER 198-1

Jace’s POV

The argument didn’t last long between Paige and me. I wasn’t letting her meet that bastard alone so I decided that it was best that she didn’t come at all. That turned into a bigger argument but luckily the guys backed me up because they didn’t want to see anything happen to her.

I didn’t like the idea of meeting Kyle at all, especially not in an abandoned warehouse, but I liked the idea of leaving him alone with whatever information he had even less.

Paige wanted to come with me, and I understood why, but I refused to let her walk into an unknown situation when we had no idea whether Kyle was telling the truth.

“You stay with Derek.” I told her before we left.

“I don’t like that plan.” She said.

“I know.” I said.

“You’re asking me to sit somewhere safe while you walk into a warehouse with a man who betrayed us.” She said.

“I’m asking you to trust me.” I said.

She looked at me for several seconds, and then she nodded.

“I trust you, but I don’t trust him.” She said.

“Neither do I.” I said.

Derek drove with me while Ethan stayed behind with Paige, and we kept our phones connected in case anything changed.

The warehouse sat beyond the industrial district, and most of the surrounding buildings had been abandoned for years.

Derek parked several blocks away, and we approached on foot because I didn’t want Kyle knowing exactly how many people were with me.

The building was dark except for a single light visible through a broken window.

“He is inside.” Derek whispered and I nodded.

We entered through a side door, and the smell of dust and old machinery filled the air.

“Kyle.” I called and there was a long pause.

Then Kyle stepped out from behind a concrete support column.

He looked exhausted.

His clothes were dirty, his face was pale, and there were dark circles beneath his eyes.

CHAPTER 1987 –

“You came.” Kyle said.

“said I would.” I said and Kyle looked at Derek.

“You brought him.” Kyle said.

“I’m not stupid enough to come alone.” I said and Kyle nodded.

“I understand.” He said.

Derek stayed several feet behind me while I approached.

“You have five minutes to explain everything.” I said so Kyle swallowed.

“I worked for Victor because I thought I had no choice.” He said.

“You had choices.” I said.

“I know that now.” He said.

“You broke into Paige’s office.” I said

“I know.” He said.

“You stole information from her business.” I said.

“I know.” He said.

“And you were ordered to steal Uncle Will’s journals.” I said as Kyle lowered his eyes.

“Yes.” He said.

“Why?” I asked.

“I don’t know.” He said.

“That answer is getting old.” I said.

“I’m telling you the truth.” Kyle said as he rubbed his face.

“Victor never explained why the journals mattered, and every time I asked, he told me I’didn’t need to know.” Kyle added and I watched him carefully.

“Then why did you agree to steal them?” I asked.

“Because he threatened my family.” He said.

“You told Paige that.” I said.

“It’s true.” He said as Derek stepped forward.

“Do you have proof?” Derek asked so Kyle reached into his jacket and pulled out his phone.

“I have photos.” Kyle said as he handed the phone to me.
