Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 369
CHAPTER 203-T
Paige’s POV
25 Points
The sun had barely risen when Mia and I started going through the workshop records, because neither of us was willing to leave another question unanswered after what we had discovered about Kyle.
The garage was quiet, although the building still carried the evidence of the night before, with medical supplies stacked near the office, several motorcycles lined up for inspection, and the three trackers sitting inside a sealed evidence bag on Ethan’s desk.
I sat beside Mia with a laptop open between us, while she pulled up the service records from the last two
months.
“We need every bike Kyle touched.” I said and Mia nodded.
“I already filtered the records by his employee number, but there are more than I expected.” Mia said as I leaned closer.
“How many?” I asked.
“Twenty-seven service orders.” She said and my stomach tightened.
“Twenty-seven?” I asked.
“He wasn’t assigned to every repair, but his name appears on twenty-seven work orders.” She said and I stared at the screen.
Twenty-seven motorcycles. Twenty-seven opportunities and the number felt enormous.
“Start with the ones that left the shop after he worked on them.” I said so Mia began sorting the records.
“Some of these were routine maintenance, while others involved electrical work, brake repairs, engine diagnostics, or restorations.” She said.
“Which means he could have accessed almost anything.” I said.
“That’s what I’m worried about.” She said as we continued searching.
For the next forty minutes, the only sounds were keyboard clicks, the hum of the refrigerators in the break room, and the occasional movement from the workshop.
Then Mia stopped.
“Wait.” Mia said as I looked at her.
“What?” I asked as she pointed toward the screen.
“This date.” She said as I leaned closer.
The service record showed a Thursday afternoon from three weeks earlier.
Kyle had been scheduled to work until six.
Hrementbered that day immediately. had been at the bank dealing with paperwork for the second workshop, while Mia had taken a customer call and left for almost an hour.
Ben had been at the other workshop and Aiden had been picking up parts. That left Kyle alone.
“How long was he here by himself?” I asked as Mia checked the staff log
“From two fourteen until four forty-eight” She said and I stared at the number.
“Two and a half hours.” I said.
“Approximately.” She said and I felt something cold settle in my stomach.
“Do we have security footage?” I asked as Mia nodded.
“I’m pulling it up now.” Mia said.
She opened the camera system, selected the date, and began scrolling through the recordings.
There I was, leaving the building. Then Mia left and Ben’s truck pulled away just before Aiden’s truck followed.
The workshop became empty. Except for Kyle.
We watched him walk through the main garage. He didn’t immediately begin working.
Instead, he stood still for several seconds while he looked around.
I watched the recording with my hands clenched beneath the desk as Kyle walked toward the motorcycles.
He stopped beside one. Then another. Then a third and Mia paused the recording.
“He shouldn’t have been working on those.” She said,
“Why?” I asked.
“Those weren’t his assigned jobs.” She said as I stared at the screen.
