Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 376
CHAPTER 206-1
Paige’s POV
For the first time in days, the clubhouse felt like a home instead of a place where everyone was waiting for the next threat.
Emma had decided that we needed a family dinner, and Sophia had agreed before anyone else could object, so by late afternoon the kitchen was already filled with the sounds of chopping vegetables, pots clattering against counters, and children running through the hallways.
I stood at the kitchen island with a knife in my hand while Emma watched me struggle with a
pile of potatoes.
“You’re holding that knife like it personally offended you.” She said as I glanced at her.
“I own a motorcycle garage, not a restaurant.” I said.
“You can rebuild an engine, but potatoes are defeating you?” She asked.
“The engine doesn’t make me cry when I cut it.” I said and Sophia laughed from the other side
of the kitchen.
“You’re supposed to peel them, Paige.” Sophia said.
“I know.” I said.
“You have been cutting the same potato for five minutes.” She said.
“I’m taking my time.” I said and Emma leaned closer.
“You’re murdering it.” Emma said.
I laughed, and for the first time that day, I felt the tension leave my shoulders.
After everything that had happened, I had forgotten what normal sounded like.
It sounded like women arguing over dinner and it sounded like children laughing. It sounded
like someone complaining because another person had used the last clean plate.
It sounded like people who trusted each other enough to be ridiculous and I looked around
the kitchen.

Emma was stirring a pot while Sophia arranged food on trays, and several of the other wives
moved around us while the children occupied themselves in the common room.
Nobody was talking about Victor. Nobody was discussing trackers. Nobody was talking
about shell companies, raids, weapons, or warehouses.
For one evening, the war could wait.
Jace walked into the kitchen carrying two bags of groceries.
“Where do you want these?” Jace asked and Emma pointed toward the counter.
“Put them there.” Emma said as he obeyed without argument and I looked at him.
“You’re very well trained.” I said and he smiled.
“I have survived long enough to know better than to argue with Emma.” Jace said.
“That might be the smartest thing you’ve said all week.” I said and he walked over and kissed
“You okay?” He asked and I nodded.
“I’m better.” I said as his eyes searched mine.
“Really?” He asked.
“Really.” I said and he looked around the kitchen.
“This was a good idea.” Jace said.
“I agree.” I said and Jace smiled before one of the children grabbed his hand.
“Come on, Jace.” He said as he looked down.
“Where are we going?” Jace asked.
“You have to help us.” He said.
“With what?” Jace asked but the child refused to answer.
“It’s a secret.” He said and Jace looked at me so I shrugged.
“I have no idea.” I said.
“You’re lying.” He said.
“I really am not.” I said and the child pulled harder.

“Come on.” He said so Jace laughed and followed him out of the kitchen.
I watched them disappear down the hallway and Emma smiled.
