Summary for Chapter 385: Ride With Me (Paige and Jace)

Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 385

CHAPTER 210-2

“That’s fine.” I said.

The supervisor looked toward the damaged structure.

“You’re lucky nobody was inside.” He said and I glanced toward the employees.

“We’re very lucky.” I said.

Once the firefighters finished their initial work, the investigators moved through the building.

We stayed outside and the club members had already started organizing themselves.

Mason checked the recovery trucks. Derek spoke with the depot manager. Ethan photographed the exterior damage while Sarah coordinated with the investigators and Paige stood beside me.

“This keeps happening.” She said as I looked at her.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“Every time we think we’re getting ahead, something else happens.” She said and I understood what she

meant.

The attacks had become unpredictable. First Lawson Customs. Then the surveillance. Then the harbour.

Now this.

“They want us tired.” I said.

“It’s working.” She said and I looked at her.

“Are you tired?” I asked.

“Yes.” She said as she gave me a small smile.

“But I’m not leaving.” She added and I wrapped an arm around her.

“Neither am I.” I said and she leaned against me.

“We’ll rebuild this too.” She said as I looked at the damaged depot.

“We will.” I said.

The investigators eventually confirmed what we had already suspected.

The fire had been deliberately started.

An explosive device had been placed near the rear storage area, and the blast had ignited nearby materials.

The damage was significant enough to shut down part of the depot, but the main structure remained usable.

<CHAPTER 2102

The employees had been lucky. Very lucky and one investigator approached Sarah.

“We found fragments from the device.” The investigator said.

“Anything useful?” Sarah asked.

“Possibly.” He said as he handed her an evidence bag and Sarah examined it.

“We’ll send it to the lab.” She said as I looked at her.

“Do you think it was professionally built?” I asked and she nodded.

“It wasn’t something someone threw together in a garage.” She said.

That told me enough. Victor’s people had resources. Maybe more resources than we understood.

The Iron Vipers didn’t wait for someone else to fix the damage.

We started ourselves.

Mason and Derek moved equipment away from the damaged section, while Ethan helped secure the storage area.

I grabbed a pair of gloves and began clearing debris and Paige immediately joined me.

“You’re not supposed to be doing this.” She said as I looked at her.

“Neither are you.” I said.

“I own Lawson Customs.” She said.

“And I run this club.” I said.

“That means we’re both terrible at taking our own advice.” She smiled.

“Apparently.” I said.

We worked until late afternoon.

The damaged office was stripped of ruined furniture, broken equipment was moved outside, and the recovery truck was towed away for assessment.

The depot would need repairs, but it would reopen.

Every time Victor knocked something down, we were going to put it back. Not because we thought it would make him stop. But because we refused to let him decide what survived.

As the sun began to drop, Ethan called me over.

“Jace.” Ethan called out so I walked toward him.

“What?” I asked.

He stood beside the security office with a laptop open.

“We need to talk about the cameras.” He said.

CHAPTER 21012

“What did you find?” I asked.

Claim

“The exterior cameras were damaged by the blast, but the backup system was still recording.” He said as I leaned closer.

“Show me.” I said and Ethan opened the footage.

The screen showed the depot from several different angles.

At first, nothing happened. Employees moved around. Recovery trucks came and went and the footage continued.

Then the timestamp changed. A dark vehicle entered the service road and I leaned closer.

“Pause it.” I said so Ethan froze the image.

“Can you zoom in?” I asked.

He enlarged the footage and the driver was difficult to see.

“Keep going.” I said.

The vehicle stopped near the rear of the depot and a man stepped out.

He looked around before walking toward the building and my jaw tightened.

“That’s not one of ours.” I said.

“No.” He said.
