When I finally left Church, Paige was waiting in the hallway and she looked at me.

“It happened.” I said and she nodded.

“You voted.” She said.

“We did.” I said as she took a breath.

“What did you decide?” She asked and I looked into her eyes.

“We’re going after the Black Reapers.” I said and she closed her eyes briefly.

“I knew you were going to say that.” She said.

“We can’t keep waiting.” I said.

“I understand.” She said as her voice was soft.

“I just don’t want to lose you.” She added as I stepped closer.

“You won’t.” I said.

“You can’t promise that.” She said.

“No.” I said.

I admitted it because I wasn’t going to lie to her.

“I can’t promise nothing will happen.” I said and her eyes searched mine.

“But I can promise I’m not going into this carelessly.” I added.

“That matters.” She said.

“I know you’re scared.” I said.

“I am.” She said as she looked toward the Church room.

“I understand why you’re doing it.” She added and I touched her cheek.

“We’re not doing this because we want revenge.” I said.

“I know.” She said.

“We’re doing it because if we keep letting them attack us, someone eventually won’t make it home.” I said and her expression tightened.

“I don’t want anyone else to die.” She said.

“Neither do 1.” I said and she leaned into my hand.

“Then come home.” She said.

“What?” I asked as he stopped beside us, breathing heavily.

“I found something.” He said and Paige stepped back.

“What did you find?” She asked as Ethan held up his laptop.

“I finished cross-referencing the property records with the financial information from Ridgeway.” Ethan said as Derek came out of the Church room.

“What did you find?” Derek asked as Ethan opened the laptop.

“There’s another warehouse.” Ethan said and I frowned.

“Where?” I asked.

“About forty minutes outside town.” He said.

“Who owns it?” I asked.

“Officially, a company called Northline Equipment Storage.” He said as Mason joined us.

“Officially?” Mason asked and Ethan nodded.

“The company is another shell.” Ethan said and I looked at the screen.

“Connected to Blackstone?” I asked.

“Yes.” Ethan said.

“Ridgeway?” I asked.

“Yes.” Ethan said.

“Victor?” I asked and Ethan hesitated.

“Indirectly.” Ethan said as Derek looked at him.

“Then why does it matter?” Derek asked.

“Because the ownership records are older than Victor’s operation.” Ethan said and that caught my

attention.

“Almost nine years.” Ethan said as Paige looked at him.

“Nine years?” I asked and Ethan nodded.

“The same time period were seeing throughout Uncle Will’s records. Ethan said as I stared at the screen.

“What’s stored there?” I asked.

“That’s what I don’t know.” Ethan said.

“Can we find out?” I asked.

“I think so.” Ethan said and Derek looked toward me.

“Police?” Derek asked and I shook my head.

“Not yet.” I said as Paige looked at me.

“You said we’re going to be careful.” She said.

“We are.” I said and I looked back at Ethan.
