Summary for Chapter 388: Ride With Me (Paige and Jace)

Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 388

CHAPTER 212-1

Paige’s POV

By the following morning, Lawson Customs no longer felt like an ordinary motorcycle garage.

Every bay was occupied, every workbench was covered with tools, and the sound of engines filled the building from the moment the doors opened,

The Iron Vipers were preparing for something.

Nobody had to say it but the tension was everywhere.

Jace had given the club its orders after Church, and although the details of the operation remained restricted to the members involved, everyone understood that the club was finally moving against the Black Reapers instead of waiting for another attack.

I refused to let them leave on machines that were anything less than perfect.

I stood beside the first motorcycle with a checklist in my hand.

“Brake pads?” I asked and Ben looked beneath the front wheel.

“Good.” He said.

“Fluid?” I asked.

“Full.” He said.

“Tyres?” I asked and Aiden checked the pressure.

“Front is perfect, rear is two pounds low.” Aiden said.

“Fix it.” I said.

“Already doing it.” He said and I nodded and moved to the next motorcycle as Jace watched me from across the workshop.

“You know you don’t have to inspect every bike yourself.” Jace said but I didn’t look up.

“Yes, I do.” I said.

“Paige.” He said as I checked the brake lever.

“Jace.” I said and he sighed.

“You’re impossible.” He said.

“I learned from you.” I said.

“That’s not something you should admit proudly.” He said and I finally looked at him.

“You’re the one taking these bikes into a dangerous operation.” I said.

“We’re not planning to get into a fight.” He said.

“Neither did you at the harbour.” I said and he had no answer for that so I returned to the motorcycle.

“Engine oil?” I asked and Ben checked the level.

“Good.” Ben said.

“Battery?” I asked.

“Good.” Ben said.

“Fuel system?” I asked and Aiden nodded.

“Clean.” Aiden said so I moved to the next item.

Every motorcycle received the same attention.

Brakes were inspected. Tyres were checked. Chains were adjusted. Oil levels were confirmed. Battery connections were tested. Fuel systems were inspected and lights were checked.

Every bike was started and allowed to run long enough for us to listen for anything unusual.

After what we had discovered about Kyle, nobody trusted anything without checking it. Not anymore.

Clave

Ben worked beside me throughout the morning, and Aiden moved between the bikes with him and at one point, Ben wiped his hands on a rag.

“Do you want me to check the rear suspension again?” Ben asked.

“Yes.” I said and he nodded.

“I thought so.” He said and I smiled.

“You’re learning.” I said.

“I’ve learned that when you get worried, everyone works twice as hard.” He said and Aiden laughed.

“That’s absolutely true.” Aiden said and I looked at both of them.

“You two are becoming very brave.” I said as Ben grinned.

“We’re qualified mechanics now.” He said.

“Apparently that comes with attitude.” I said.

“It comes with experience.” He said and I shook my head.

“Check the suspension.” I said and Ben laughed and returned to work.

The garage stayed busy for hours.
