Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 399

CHAPTER 217-2

“I know enough to tell you that he isn’t planning another warehouse attack.” He said.

“Then what is he targeting?” Derek asked as he folded his arms.

“He never told us.” Cole said.

“Who knew?” Derek asked.

“Victor, Damien, and a few senior men.” Cole said.

“Damien?” Derek asked.

“He challenged Victor at the meeting.” Cole said.

“What happened?” Derek asked.

“Victor nearly killed him.” Cole said.

That matched the kind of fracture we had been expecting.

“Why are you leaving now?” I asked.

“Because Victor is desperate. We have lost too much, and he keeps telling everyone that one

final operation will give us enough money to rebuild.” Cole said.

“And you believe this attack is connected to that?” Derek asked.

“Yes.” Cole said.

“Why?” Derek asked.

“He has been moving people around without explaining why, and he has been asking about

roads, security schedules, businesses, and places where the Iron Vipers spend time.” Cole

said.

“Did he mention Lawson Customs?” I asked as my stomach tightened and Cole hesitated.

“Yes.” He said.

“What did he say?” Derek asked as his expression hardened.

“That it was important, and that Jace would never expect where the final attack would come

from.” Cole said.

“What else do you know?” I asked.

“Nothing specific.” He said.

“Then we’re done here.” I said.

“You said you would protect me.” Cole said as his eyes widened.

“I said we would discuss protection if you were telling the truth. Bring him to the clubhouse.”

I said looking toward Derek and relief crossed Cole’s face.

“Thank you.” He said.

“You’re not free to move around. You will stay under supervision until we verify everything

you’ve told us.” I said.

“I understand.” He said.

We loaded Cole into one of the vehicles, and Derek followed behind.

Before we reached the clubhouse, the second defector called, and I answered through the

vehicle system.

“Where are you?” I asked.

“Still at the location I gave you.” He said.

“We’re coming.” I said.

“Are you alone?” He asked.

“No.” I said.

“Who is with you?” He asked.

“Iron Vipers.” I said and his breathing changed.

“Then come quickly.” He said.

The call ended, and I looked at Derek.

Whatever had frightened the second man, hearing that the Iron Vipers were coming had

made it worse.

When we arrived, the second man was waiting inside an abandoned workshop.

He was older than Cole, probably in his forties, and looked exhausted as he raised his hands.

“I don’t want trouble.” He said.

“Then don’t give us any.” Derek said.

“My name is Aaron.” He said.

“Take it off.” I said as I looked at his vest and he removed it immediately.

“You know Cole?” I asked.

“No.” He said.

“You called us separately.” I said.
