The moment Paige ended the call with Sarah, I knew our wedding night was over.

Not because I wanted it to be. Not because Paige wanted it to be. But because the expression on

her face told me that whatever Sarah had discovered was too important to ignore.

I walked toward her while the music continued behind us.

“What did she say?” I asked and Paige looked at me.

“She says the Black Reapers are relocating supplies.” She said.

“Where?” I asked.

“She didn’t say.” She said and I glanced around the clubhouse.

People were still laughing, although several had noticed that something had changed and I

lowered my voice.

“Did she say what kind of supplies?” I asked.

“Her exact words were that she had urgent intelligence.” She said and I sighed.

“Of course she did.” I said and Paige reached for my hand.

“Go.” She said and I looked at her.

“Today is our wedding day.” He said.

“I know.” She said.

“I should be here.” He said.

“You’re here.” She said.

“For about five more minutes.” I said and she smiled.

“Then you will just have to make it up to me later.” She said and I laughed despite myself.

“You’re taking this surprisingly well.” I said.

“I married you knowing exactly what our life was going to be like.” She said as I squeezed her hand.

“I hate leaving you.” I said.

“I know.” She said.

“You have had enough danger for one night.” I said.

“You have too.” She said and I looked toward the entrance.

“I need to know what Victor is moving.” I said.

“Then go find out.” She said and I leaned down and kissed her.

“I love you.” I said.

“I love you too.” She said and I pulled away reluctantly.

“Later.” I said and she smiled.

“Definitely later.” She said and I turned toward Derek.

He was already reaching for his jacket with one hand because his injured shoulder was still heavily

bandaged.

“You’re staying here.” I told him and he looked offended.

“I can still ride.” He said.

“You were shot yesterday.” I said.

“I have recovered significantly.” Derek said.

“You have seven stitches.” I said.

“Seven stitches aren’t going to stop me.” He said.

“They are tonight.” I said and Derek sighed.

“You’re becoming annoyingly responsible.” Derek said.

“I learned from Paige.” I said and he glanced toward her.

“That’s unfortunate.” He said and Paige laughed as I looked at Mason.

“You’re coming with me.” I said and he nodded.

“Ethan?” I called out.

“Already waiting.” Ethan said.

We left the clubhouse quietly, and within minutes, several Iron Vipers riders were moving through

the roads outside our territory.

Sarah had sent the information through a secure channel, and Ethan had already begun piecing together the locations.
