Summary for Chapter 436: Ride With Me (Paige and Jace)

Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 436

CHAPTER 234-2

The fight had lasted less than ten minutes, but the road looked like a battlefield.

Glass covered the pavement. Two motorcycles were damaged. One truck had several bullet holes

through the rear panel.

Ryan’s sleeve was soaked with blood from a shallow wound and the other patrol rider had taken a

round to the vest, but the armor had stopped it.

“Can you walk?” I asked him.

“Yes.” He said.

“Then get behind the trucks.” I said and he nodded and Mason looked toward the trees.

“They’re running.” Mason yelled.

“Don’t chase them.” I yelled.

He lowered his weapon and then we heard another shot.

It came from deeper in the woods and a man stumbled into view.

For half a second, I didn’t recognize him. Then I saw the vest.

“Damien.” I said.

He was bleeding badly from his side, and one hand was pressed against the wound.

He stumbled toward an abandoned dirt track while two Black Reapers tried to cover his escape.

“Hold fire!” I shouted and our men stopped.

Damien looked back at us and his face twisted with pain. Then he disappeared into the trees and

Derek stared after him.

“He’s wounded.” Derek said.

“I know.” I said.

“Should we follow?” He asked.

“No.” I said and Derek looked at me.

“Why?” Derek asked.

“Because he wants us to.” I said as I looked at the blood trail disappearing into the forest.

Damien had escaped us too many times.

CHAPTER 234 2

There was always another vehicle, another route, another safe house.

This time, he was wounded. That changed things.

However, it didn’t mean we should walk into whatever trap Victor had prepared next as sirens

sounded in the distance.

“Police.” Mason said as I looked toward the road.

“Good.” I said.

We began securing weapons and checking the patrol members again.

Then a familiar vehicle came around the bend and Sarah Collins stepped out before the cruiser

had fully stopped.

That caught my attention and she moved quickly toward the injured riders.

“How many?” She asked.

“Four attacked, two wounded.” I replied and she nodded.

“Where did they go?” She asked.

“Into the woods.” I said.

“Damien?” She asked as I stared at her.

“Yes.” I said and she looked toward the trees.

“How badly was he wounded?” She asked and I felt something tighten in my chest.

“You seem very interested in Damien.” I said.

“I am interested in everyone involved in an armed attack.” She said.

Her answer was reasonable. Her expression wasn’t.

She kept looking toward the woods as though she expected someone to emerge. Then she glanced toward the road.

1 “Did anyone see which vehicle they used?” She asked and I shook my head.

“They came through the trees.” I said and Sarah nodded.

“Of course.” She said and the words bothered me.

“What does that mean?” I asked as she looked at me.

“Nothing.” She said as I studied her.
