Paige’s POV-

By the time we closed Lawson Customs the next evening, everyone looked like they had forgotten

what sleep was supposed to feel like.

Ben was sitting on a stool beside the workbench with his elbows resting on his knees, while Aiden stood nearby staring at an engine as though he had been trying to remember what it was supposed to do for the past ten minutes.

Mia was behind the office desk, surrounded by paperwork, receipts, phone messages, and enough empty coffee cups to suggest she had been surviving entirely on caffeine.

I looked around the workshop and shook my head.

“We’re done.” I said and Ben lifted his head.

“Done for tonight?” Ben asked.

“No.” I said and he frowned.

“Then what?” He asked.

“You and Aiden are taking tomorrow off.” I said as both of them looked at me and Aiden

straightened.

“Paige, we have customers booked.” Aiden said.

“I will handle them.” I said.

“You can’t handle the whole workshop yourself.” He said.

“I don’t need to.” I said as Ben shook his head.

“We can work.” Ben said.

“I know you can.” I said as I walked toward him.

“that’s exactly why you need a day off.” I said and he looked like he wanted to argue but I pointed

toward him.

“Don’t.” I said.

His mouth closed and Aiden laughed quietly.

“You just got ordered to rest.” Aiden said and Ben looked at him.

“You’re supposed to be on my side.” Ben said.

“I am on the side that wants to survive the week.” He said and I smiled.

“Good.” I said and I turned toward Mia.

“You’re off too.” I said and Mia stared at me.

“I have too much paperwork.” She said.

“You have been doing paperwork since six this morning.” I said.

“It needs to be done.” She said.

“It will still be there when you get back.” I said and Mia looked genuinely horrified by the concept.

“What if something changes?” She asked.

“Then someone will call me.” I said and she sighed.

“You’re becoming very bossy.” She said.

“I own the place.” I said.

“That’s not an argument.” She said.

“It is absolutely an argument.” I said and Ben laughed, and even Aiden smiled as I picked up the

keys from the counter.

“Everyone goes home.” I said and Ben stood slowly.

“I haven’t heard those words from you in months.” Ben said.

“Then enjoy them.” I said as Aiden grabbed his jacket.

“I’m going home before you change your mind.” Aiden said.

“That’s the smartest thing you have said all day.” I said.

They headed toward the door, and Mia finally closed the laptop and she looked at me.

“Are you taking tomorrow off too?” She asked and I hesitated.

“I’ll see.” I said as Mia gave me a look.

“That means no.” She said.

“I have things to do.” I said.

“You always have things to do.” She said.

“I own a motorcycle shop.” I said.
