Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 452
CHAPTER 240-2
will never surrender.” He yelled and I lifted my hand.
“Last chance.” I said as Victor fired a shot into the ground.
Then the quarry erupted.
Gunfire exploded from the barricades.
The Iron Vipers dropped behind cover as bullets struck the rocks around us.
“Move!” I yelled.
We spread out immediately and I fired toward the barricade while Ethan moved behind a concrete block and Tyler crouched beside him.
“Left side!” Tyler yelled and I turned.
Three Black Reapers were moving along the ridge.
I fired twice, forcing them back and Derek’s voice came through the radio.
“Eastern side engaged.” Derek said as Mason followed.
“Western side too.” Mason said.
“Hold your positions.” I said.
Another burst of gunfire tore across the quarry.
Rock fragments struck my jacket and I moved behind a larger stone barrier and looked toward the
main entrance.
Victor’s men were firing from elevated positions. They had prepared every angle.
“They have the high ground.” Ethan shouted.
“I know.” I said.
“Then we need to move them.” Ethan said and I looked toward the ridge.
“Mason.” I said.
“Go. Push the western side.” I yelled.
“On it.” Mason said.
Mason and his team moved along the rocks, forcing the Black Reapers to turn their attention.

Derek did the same from the eastern side.

The pressure worked and several of Victor’s men abandoned their positions and moved toward the center.
“Now!” I yelled and I raised my weapon.
The Iron Vipers advanced.
We moved from cover to cover, closing the distance toward the barricade and Victor’s men began falling back.
One dropped his weapon and raised his hands and another followed.
“Don’t shoot them!” I yelled.
“We’re here for Victor.” I announced.
The surrendering riders moved away from the barricade and Victor appeared behind them.
“Cowards!” Victor yelled and one of the men looked at him.
“We’re done.” He said and Victor raised his weapon toward him.
I fired first and Victor ducked behind the barricade so the rider escaped toward our position.
“Keep moving!” I yelled.
He ran and the battle continued around us and Derek reached the eastern barrier.
“Jace, we have an opening.” Derek yelled.
“Take it.” I said.
He and two riders moved through. Mason broke through from the opposite side. The Black Reapers were trapped between both flanks and Victor realized it.
He looked toward the quarry entrance behind him and then he disappeared.
“Victor’s moving!” I yelled over the radio.
“Where?” Derek asked.
“Main entrance!” I said and I ran.
Ethan and Tyler followed and we reached the barricade just as Victor disappeared through a narrow opening between two concrete structures.
“After him!” I yelled.

We crossed the barrier and the quarry opened into a large excavation zone beyond it, and several old mining tunnels were cut into the rock wall and Victor was running toward them.
“Stop!” I yelled.
He fired over his shoulder and we ducked.
The bullet struck the rock beside me as Victor disappeared behind a stone structure and I chased
him.
“Jace, wait!” Derek yelled over the radio.
“There could be another position inside.” Derek yelled.
“I know.” I said as I slowed and Ethan caught up.
“He’s heading toward the bunker.” Ethan said as I looked at Tyler.
“Can you confirm?” I asked as Tyler nodded.
“The tunnel system connects to the maintenance bunker.” Tyler said.
I looked toward the darkness ahead. Victor had planned this. The barricades hadn’t been designed to keep us out forever.
They had been designed to slow us down. He had been buying time and I raised the radio.
“Derek, Mason, close the outer exits.” I ordered.
“We’re on it.” Mason said.
“Don’t let anyone leave.” I ordered.
“Understood.” Derek said and I looked toward the tunnel.
“Ethan, stay with Tyler.” I said and he nodded.
We moved inside and the tunnel was narrow, and the sound of our footsteps echoed against the
stone.
“Where is Damien?” Derek asked through the radio and I looked behind us.
“I don’t know.” I said.
“He was supposed to meet us.” Derek said.
“He never showed.” I said.
“That worries me.” Derek said.
