“Why are there more?” I asked.

“We’re narrowing it down.” She said.

“You’re making it worse.” I said and Emma laughed.

“Just pick one.” Emma said and I pointed randomly.

“That one.” I said and Sophia looked at it.

“You picked the most expensive one.” She said.

“I didn’t know that.” I said.

“You didn’t even look.” She said.

“Because they’re flowers.” I said and the office door opened.

Ben walked inside carrying a toolbox and he stopped when he saw the table.

“What happened?” He asked.

“Baby shower planning.” I said and Ben looked at the pictures. Then he looked at me and then he

looked back at the flowers.

“I’d rather rebuild an engine.” He said and I burst out laughing.

“Thank you.” I said as Ben placed his toolbox down.

“Seriously, fixing engines is easier than choosing flowers.” Ben said and Emma frowned.

“What’s wrong with the flowers?” Emma asked.

“Nothing.” I said.

“Because every engine has a problem you can actually identify.” I said and Sophia laughed and Ben painted toward the pictures.

“These all look the same.” Ben said.

“They absolutely do not.” Emma said.

“They’re flowers.” Ben said and I leaned back in my chair.

“Finally, someone understands me.” I said and Ben nodded.

“I’ve got your back.” Ben said but Emma shook her head.

“Neither of you are helping.” She said as Ben picked up another picture.

“What about these?” Ben asked and Mia smiled.

“Those are actually pretty.” Mia said and Ben looked relieved.

“Great, then we’re done.” Ben said but Emma shook her head.

“No, we’re not.” Emma said as Ben stared at her.

“Why?” Ben asked.

“Because those are for the tables, and we haven’t chosen the centerpieces.” Emma said and Ben slowly put the picture down.

“I’ve changed my mind.” Ben said and I laughed.

“I’m with you.” I said.

The planning somehow became even more complicated.

There were invitations, food, drinks, decorations, games, music, gifts, and a discussion about whether the baby shower should have a motorcycle theme.

I said yes. Emma said no.

Sophia said we could incorporate motorcycles without making the entire room look like a

clubhouse.

Mia suggested miniature motorcycles as table decorations and Ben suggested putting an actual motorcycle inside the room and everyone stared at him.
