Ruined By My Brother’s Best Friend
Boy Toy
William stiffened beside me, as though my objection to Alvise’s demands had shocked him.
Alvise remained calm, his face stoic with no expression in sight except for the bitter rage in his eyes. He watched me for a while, then tilted his head to the side. “Get. Out,” he said, his voice calmer, like he was daring me to refuse.
I tilted my chin up, my eyes narrowed as I glared at him. I could feel the pent-up frustration rising to the surface, but what annoyed me the most was that I was intimidated by him. Annoyed, I looked away and leaned back in my seat.
William cleared his throat, then glanced at me. “Is there a problem, Ella?”
I sighed and absentmindedly curled a strand of my hair around my finger. “I don’t know, William. Let’s just go.” I wasn’t getting out of this car, at least not willingly.
As if Alvise could hear my thoughts, he straightened up, slipped his hands into his pockets, then casually walked to my side of the car again. Before I could fully register what was going on, he pulled the door open, grabbed my hand, and pulled me out.
“What the…” I yelped, clutching his suit jacket to steady myself after being yanked against his chest, his rich cologne hitting my nose. Once I was able to stand on my own, I yanked my hands off his chest and moved back, putting some distance between us.
Shocked, William rushed out of the car to my side. “Okay, what’s going on?” he asked, but I was too busy glaring at the tall devil towering over me to answer him.
Alvise glanced at his watch, his jaw hardening before his eyes found mine again. I couldn’t read them, but I could tell he was pissed. However, I didn’t know just how pissed he was until he took a step closer, placed his large hands on my waist, then hoisted me up and threw me over his shoulder like I weighed nothing.
I gasped and hit his back, wiggling my legs continuously and trying to jump down. Let me go!” I yelled, frustrated.
Alvise ignored me and started walking away from the car as though my efforts to get away weren’t bothersome.
“You can’t just do that, man,” William said, his voice firm. “She clearly doesn’t want to go with you. What’s the issue?” he demanded, and from the closeness of his voice, I could tell he was now standing right in front of Alvise.
I felt Alvise’s body tense beneath my hold, the muscles in his back hardening as he paused. “Get the fuck out of my way,” he ordered, the authority in his voice unmistakable.
It sent chills down my back, and I realized I was basically doomed. Alvise could be terrifying when he wanted to be. I wouldn’t be surprised if William was intimidated.
“You can’t just force her out of my car and take her,” William countered. “Put her down.”
I had a feeling things were going to escalate at any moment, so I dug my nails into Alvise’s back, trying to urge him to put \ me down, but he didn’t budge. Instead, he tightened his hold on my legs.
“You’re not going with him, Arabella,” William said sternly, the anger evident in his voice. But more than that, I could tell be was intimidated by the way he straightened up and puffed out his chest.
The last thing I wanted was for a fight to happen, especially in front of my workplace. I shook my head and turned fully to William. “Don’t worry, I’m fine,” I told him. “He’s my brother’s best friend.”
William already knew that, but he still seemed unconvinced as he looked from Alvise to me. In order to reassure him, I said, “He won’t hurt me, William.” At least not physically, but I didn’t say that out loud.
“I don’t have time for whatever this is, Arabella,” Alvise said, breaking the tense silence. “Tell your boy toy to get the fuck out of here before I do it for him.”
I turned to face him, my eyes widening in disbelief. He just called William my boy toy. What the actual hell? “Don’t say that!” I yelled, glaring at him.
I turned to William, whose face was red with embarrassment, but the veins in his forehead were popping, revealing his anger. “I’ll call you, William,” I said, pleading with my eyes for him to leave.
He watched me for some time before nodding and walking back to his car. Before I could sigh in relief, Alvise tugged me to his side and gently nudged me into the passenger seat before getting into the driver’s seat.
Just as I was about to put on my seatbelt, the door clicked shut, and then I was alone with the devil.
