Read Arabella and Alvise novel Chapter 87
My heart thundered against my chest, my muscles weakening and my legs almost giving out beneath me as I stared at the printed photographs in her hands.
Bile rose in my throat, and I quickly looked away, tears welling in my eyes.
I knew this was coming, but that didn’t make it hurt any less.
“Did you, for one second, think you could play with me?” Francesca snapped, her voice dripping with bitter venom.
I could do nothing but stare at the wall, hoping I’d somehow dissociate enough to tune out her presence and her words
Francesca didn’t let that happen.
She grabbed the tail of my ponytail and yanked my head back before shoving the photographs into my face. I refused to look at them. Even with them inches away from me, I kept my eyes unfocused, looking straight through them.
“I have your fucking life in my hands, bitch!” she boasted. “So when I tell you to do something…” She jerked my head back even harder. “You fucking do it.”
I winced as pain shot across my scalp, forcing my eyes shut. I grabbed at her wrist, desperately trying to pry her hand from my hair, but she only tightened her grip.
“Did you hear what I said? Your life is under my control! I call the shots!” she rasped, violently shaking me back and forth.
“Please…” I begged through my tears. “Let me go.”
She giggled. “I haven’t even gotten started, and you’ve already skipped to my favorite part.”
She released my hair before wiping a tear from my cheek with her fingers. “Oh… how I love these tears.”
