Jade’s pov

I went to the bathroom and as I was coming out Sasha blocked my path.

“Even today, for once you couldn’t just let it be about me?” she asked me and I looked at her.

“Remember the beauty pageant you won every year?” I asked her and she smirked.

“Yes,” she answered and I nodded.

“The talent shows you won every year?” I asked her and she nodded.

“Have you ever wondered why I never entered those things?” I asked her.

“You are my older sister, I know that you can sing and dance very well. But don’t you wonder why you didn’t know that I also could do all those things?” I asked her.

“What does it matter? You stole my mate away from me,” she retorted and I nodded.

“This has nothing to do with him. It has everything to do with you and that despite the fact that I am your younger sister you have always hated me,” I said and watched as her eyes landed on me.

“No matter what I did, I was always the villain in your eyes wasn’t I?” I asked her and she didn’t

answer.

“I am not trying to steal your spotlight, the Alpha King was the one that invited me. And his support would mean a lot to my husband,” I explained and pushed her aside so I could walk off.

“And I am tired of always trying to spare your feelings. You see me as the villain of your life, I might as well act like one,” I added and then walked away.

I went back to the party and I found myself smiling when I saw Addison dancing around with

everyone.

The party was now lively.

My eyes landed on my sister who was walking straight towards Dante.

She signaled something to the band and then they changed the music!’

I watched as everyone gave them space and Dante’s eyes landed on me.

This is the official first dance between the Alpha and his Luna.

My sister put a lot of effort into this, the music was romantic and she looked at me.

I saw a smirk on her face as she did so. Is she trying to make me jealous?

They started with the dance and I must say that they look good together.

I could see my sister’s eyes sparkling in the spotlight as they danced together.

It was perfect and beautiful, it doesn’t matter, right?

Dante loves me, I am his wife and no one else.

The dance came to an end and Dante was headed towards me when Sasha held on to his hand.

They started talking to some Alphas and I found myself looking outside.

I wish I could just go outside and get some fresh air. I looked around, hoping that I could escape

unnoticed.

“Planning to flee?” the Alpha King asked me and I smiled.

“Yes, I think I have socialized enough for one day,” I answered and he smiled at this.

“You are not the only one,” he said pointing at my mother who was walking upstairs.

Probably to take a nap.

I was hoping to talk to her but I guess that will have to wait.

“You seem to be a lot like your mother,” he added and I frowned at this.

“Really? That isn’t the compliment you think it is,” I retorted and he nodded.

“I think it is, you are both really strong and powerful women,” he added and I looked at him.

“Are you in love with my mother?” I asked him and he laughed at this.

“Hell no, I have only loved one woman in this world and she is no more,” he answered and then

Dante joined us.

“I am sorry, I had to do the dance before asking you the important question. Who is this we you spoke off?” Dante asked the Alpha King.

“You can only believe it when you see it. Why don’t the two of you visit me next week?” he asked us

and Dante looked at me.

“I would rather not, I don’t like new spaces and new people. They make me uncomfortable,” I

answered.

“Well, you are just going to have to brave it through. Your husband wants answers, after all, I will wait for you. You will need to know the full story in order to win the battle ahead,” he added and

Wait, is he talking about that mysterious figure?

These old hags like talking in riddles instead of just saying what they want to say.

“Looks like we don’t have much of a choice,” Dante said and I nodded.

He was about to say something but some other Alpha and his Luna came up to him.

And right on their side was my amazing sister Sasha who has a smirk on her face.

I just walked off to the garden to get some air.

I looked around and it was dark for some reason so I just sat down and enjoyed the fresh air.

“I knew I would find you here,” Dante said and I rolled my eyes at this.

“Stop acting like you know me better than anyone. You couldn’t have known,” I answered and he pulled me towards him.

“Really? And for a second there I thought that I knew you better than you know yourself,” he

retorted.

“Well you

don’t, you just guessed,” I answered and he nodded.

“Well, I am glad I guessed right because this would have gone to waste,” he said pulling a remote

from his pocket.

He pressed it and suddenly the lights turned on and I looked around the garden.

It was decorated with white lilies and he pulled one out of his pocket.

“I think I didn’t give you one today, is that why you are so sad?” he asked me and I rolled my eyes.

“Why would I be angry over some stupid flower?” I asked trying not to blush.

I was a little disappointed when I didn’t get one today.

I mean it is his fault for raising my standards and always giving me flowers.

He even swore that he would give me flowers every day for the rest of our lives.

That it is his undying love and devotion.

“Come on,” he said holding my hand and leading me deeper into the garden.

We got to a place where there was a band waiting for us.

They started playing a song and Dante held out his dance and bowed a bit.

“Can I have this dance?” he asked me and I nodded as I put my hand on his.

We danced to a couple of songs and then he took my hand again and led me somewhere else.

We stopped in front of a tent, no, it looked like a tent but was bigger.

I would say that it was the size of a cottage which I guess made it a cottage.

“What is this? I have never seen it around before,” I said and looked at Dante.

“Yes, I had it built a few weeks ago. It took longer than I would have liked,” he answered and took

out a key from his pocket.

Well, those pockets sure do have a lot of things in them.

He unlocked and we went inside and I couldn’t believe my eyes.

It was decorated in my favorite color and had all the plants that I liked.

“I had this made for you, look up,” he said and I looked up and I could see the stars.

The roof was made of some kind of glass and I could see the stars.

“Well, you once bought the stars to me, so I thought I would do the same,” he said.

My eyes landed on the bed and I found myself smiling.

“Everything looks great, thank you but,” I paused and I watched as he looked at me with fear in his

eyes.

“I think we should test out the bed,” I added and he chuckled at this.

“I think so too,” he said and I thought I was tired but I was wrong.

We were on it for hours and I looked at Dante who was fast asleep.

I looked at the stars and I felt this fear inside me.

Why does it feel like it’s the calmness before the storm?
