Chapter 12: Serum
Dante’s pov
“How could you do this to me?” Sasha asked, and I looked at her confused. “First you suggested the idea of making Jade your legal wife, and then you went and did it without my knowledge.”
Does she even know what she has done?
She bought the girl who has been consuming my thoughts and dreams into my life. Does she even know the damage all of this could do?
“Are you angry that I didn’t tell you or that I am now married to Jade?” I asked her and she
looked at me.
“I am confused and hurt, Dante. You agreed to a prenup when I suggested it. But you were ready to marry Jade in a heartbeat. Why? Why did you do that?” She asked me, and I didn’t
have an answer.
That’s exactly what Felix and Jade said. Had I wanted, I could have easily put an end to this madness. I am an Alpha, and what I say goes, but I acted helpless.
I told myself that I was doing this for my family and my brothers. I am doing this because it is what my mate wants. But why did I prepare the marriage papers so early? Why did I bring
them here?
She hadn’t agreed yet, and I didn’t know if she was going to agree to this madness. But I came prepared like some madman.
“Because I don’t want to dishonor your sister. You are my mate, and I will never leave you. I wanted to give Jade the same safety and security that you have. And I did that.” I said, and then sighed.
“Is there anything else you want to talk about? Anything that you want to tell me?” Sasha asked me and I shook my head.
She walked towards me and wrapped her arms around me. “I love you, Dante, and I am doing all of this for us. You think I like the thought of my husband sleeping with my sister?”
“I don’t like it at all, I absolutely hate it, but it’s something that had to be done.” She added.
“Come on, let’s go and have dinner.” She said, and I nodded as I held her hand and we went downstairs.

We got downstairs, and everyone was there, and even Felix was back.
“Is it done?” I asked him, and he nodded, handing me the marriage certificate.
“You are now officially a husband.” Felix said as he handed me the papers.
All eyes in the room were on me as I looked at the certificate.
“Keep it with you,” I said to Felix, who nodded and took the papers.
“When are Jade and Jay coming back? Jade will be leaving tomorrow, and I hardly got to see her. Why didn’t they ask me to come along?” Jane asked with a frown.
Jane is Emily’s daughter, which means she is Sasha’s cousin.
“Knowing Jade, I am sure that Jay had to force her to allow him to tag along.” Mira, another cousin, said.
“Yes, I can totally see it.” Jane said with a chuckle.
We all heard a car stopping, and a few seconds later, the large doors opened.
“Hello family.” Jade said, walking in and Jay ran behind her to balance her. She was clearly very drunk and couldn’t even stand on her own.
“Come on sister, you need to get to bed.” Jay said, but Jade shook her head.
“I am hungry.” She walked to the table, took a piece of meat, and started eating.
“Why did you drink? You know that alcohol isn’t good for you.” Mrs Hale said.
“Come on, Samantha. It’s my wedding night. You should really loosen up.” Jade responded
with a chuckle.
“What happened? Why did she drink so much?” Mr Hale asked, looking at Jay.
“Well, I don’t know where to start0” Jay said, looking at his older sister. “But the good thing is that I insisted on going with her.”
“Kiddo, come on go to your room now.” Her father said and Jade pouted.
“Can I take the meat?” She asked, and her father smiled and nodded.
“Yes, take as much as you want.” Her father said, and she smiled as she took the meat and got up from the chair.
Her brother and father helped her up the stairs, and I could hear them laughing along the
way.

Damn these sound-proof walls that block my werewolf hearing. I would have heard what she said that made them laugh like that.
“I can’t believe that someone like her is now our daughter-in-law.” Uncle said, shaking his head with a frown on his face.
I went to Sasha’s room and showered.
“Come to bed,” She said, and I looked at her.
My mate is extremely beautiful and very sexy, I might add. She obviously had other intentions for tonight.
“I will be there, I just need a bottle of water, and I will be with you very soon.” I said, and then winked. She smiled and nodded.
I left the room and went downstairs to get the bottle of water.
The moment the kitchen came into view, I saw her. Jade was sitting on the kitchen counter. What is she doing there?
I walked into the kitchen, and she had a tub of ice cream in her hands.
“Look at that, if it isn’t my husband, the apple of my eye.” She said sarcastically.
She was still very drunk.
“Hello, wife,” I said, and she chuckled at this.
“I am someone’s wife. I didn’t even get the chance to be a girlfriend or a fiancé, but I am already a wife.” She said.
What does she mean that she didn’t get a chance to be a girlfriend? Is she talking about how she went directly from being nothing to being a wife?
“You should go to your room, it’s late, and you seem really drunk.” I said, and she smiled as she looked at me.
“What? Are you scared that what happened the last time might happen again?” She asked
“No, I am just concerned because you seem really drunk.” I said, and she scoffed.
“Save your concern,” She retorted and went back to eating her ice cream.
I got the bottle of water that I needed, but I couldn’t leave her here alone like that. She could slip and fall while walking up the stairs. She could fall off this counter and get seriously

I joined her at the counter, and she looked at me confused.
“You want some?” She asked me, pointing at the ice cream.

“No, I don’t have much of a sweet tooth.” I answered, and her brown eyes landed on mine.
“Okay,” She said as she started licking the spoon. My eyes followed her every movement.
The way she would lick her lower lip, and how she closes her eyes as she eats the ice cream.
“What are you doing here then? Go and sleep.” She said after a few minutes.
“Leave you here all alone, not a chance.” I said, and she chuckled.
“I prefer being alone. Your presence here is making me really uncomfortable.” She answered.
“Why is that? What did I do that you feel uncomfortable around me?” I asked her and she looked at me.
“You really don’t know what you did? That night?” She asked me.
I looked at her and tried to see if I could tell what she was thinking.
“What did I do that night?” I asked her.
“You touched me, you kissed me.” She answered, and I looked at her and smiled.
Ever since that day, I have had one question in mind, and now I can find the answer to that
question.
They say that alcohol is more like a truth serum.
“Did you like it?” I asked her and she looked at me.
“Yes, I liked it, more than I should have.” She answered. “But it’s unfair. You touched me, but I
never got to touch you.”
“Do you want to? Just to get even?” I asked her, and she didn’t answer but came closer. I watched as her hand reached for my chest.
That’s when I realized that I wasn’t wearing a shirt.
Her gentle hand on my chest, she looked up at me and then smiled. She got closer, and her lips touched mine.
I didn’t do anything but just sat there as she moved her lips against mine.

She tasted like caramel, her lips were so soft and cold at the same time.
She suddenly stopped moving, but her lips were still touching mine.
I moved a little to look at her, and she had blacked out.
I got off the counter and took her to her room and laid her on the bed.
I looked at those lips.
I looked at her now sleeping frame.
I am sorry, Jade, but it looks like I won’t be able to keep my promise.
When the time comes, will you forgive me for what I will do then?
