“Yes, I am pregnant with the future heir of this family,” Sasha said firmly in case anyone else didn’t

hear her.

“How is it possible? The doctor said that you can’t be a mother,” Mother-in-law pointed out and

Sasha smiled.

“I guess one could say that it’s a miracle,” she answered and her eyes landed on me.

“I hope that is okay with you. I had to come back so my child could grow up surrounded by their

family,” she said with a fake sweet smile.

“Tommy is dead,” I said and she didn’t seem surprised by this.

“I am sorry I can’t celebrate your happy news. I am kind of grieving right now, but congratulations sister,” I said and then got up.

I walked to our bedroom and it felt like I was being suffocated.

What am I crying about now?

Dante walked into the room and his eyes landed on mine.

“We will have a paternity test done. It could all be a lie,” he said and I sighed at this.

“You knew it too, she must have had a reason to go as far as drugging you. We just never thought

that she would go that far to get what she wants. But she went that far, this is what she wanted,” I

retorted.

I sighed and then walked to the bathroom and locked myself in there.

I couldn’t sleep or eat for days after that.

We buried Tommy and I felt it as my heart broke yet again.

“I still can’t believe that he is gone,” Addison said as we just sat outside.

“He won’t write music again, he won’t sing to us again,” she added and started sobbing once again.

I think the world underestimates how painful it is to lose a friend, now I know how painful it can be.

We sat there for some time in silence and then went inside when it was getting chilly.

I got to my room and I found Sasha waiting for me.

“Do you need anything?” I asked her and she smiled at this.

“You don’t have to give me flowers to thank me. I gave the madman the idea since he can’t kill Dante, then he should kill everyone around you one by one. Who should be next? Your annoying friend Addison? Or should we spice it up a bit and go after your little brother?” she asked me.

I held in my sob as I looked at my older sister.

“He is your little brother too,” I pointed out and she started laughing at this.

I watched how she turned around and raised her hand to slap me.

“Leave,” he said and she walked out without another word.

Terrence turned around to look at me and I watched as he reached out to wipe away my tears.

I felt this cold shiver run down my spine and I moved away from him.

His eyes were fixated on my face as he looked at me and then winked.

“Gosh, you are even more beautiful up close,” he said.

He licked his lips as he reached out to touch the air near me.

“I said I will leave,” I said firmly and he looked at me.

“You are not surprised that I was here the whole time?” he asked me and I just shrugged.

“Frankly, I just don’t care,” I said and walked downstairs to find everyone having dinner.

“I was coming with our dinner upstairs,” Dante said and I shook my head.

“No, let’s have dinner with the whole family,” I said and held his hand.

“Well, good choice because we have a lot of meat tonight,” Nick said as he put some on my plate.

We started eating and they kept telling funny stories about what had been happening.

Dante’s eyes landed on me and he smiled as he looked at me.

He kissed my hand and never let go of it the whole time we were having dinner.

After dinner, everyone went to sleep and I looked at Dante who was fast asleep.

He won’t be able to hear a thing.

I started packing and then looked at him one last time and kissed his forehead.

As I was going downstairs I found Addison waiting for me.

“I know you better than you know yourself,” she said and I smiled at this.

“What gave it away?” I asked her and she shook her head.

“That doesn’t matter, please don’t go,” she said and I shook my head.

“I lost, and this is the right thing to do,” I explained but she shook her head.

I walked towards her and then hugged her.

“Take care of everyone for me. I wanted to be there for every milestone of your life. I am sorry that

I won’t be there,” I said and then chanted a spell.
